There are different types of psoriasis and different things work on different types. You can try several different things. I use equate medicated scrub with salicylic acid. It is very inexpensive and it works pretty well for me.
It is important to understand that your skin is a reflection of your overall health. Particularly liver health. Thus excess consumption of alcohol and other toxins can adversely affect psoriasis. I have had positive results by eliminating high fructose corn syrup from my diet (suggested by Dr. Andrew Weil) and increasing omega 3 intake. A daily fish oil capsule will definitely help your psoriasis as well as help to regulate cholesterol.
Good luck.

It's difficult. Very difficult. Steroid creams make the skin thinner, and lotions do very little. I hear there is an oral medication that can help, but I'm very leary about trying it.
My best therapy is ocean water. Really! When I spend a week at the beach, my psoriasis is totally gone. I spend a lot of time in the water surf fishing and it's amazing how well it clears it up for a few months. My skin is as soft as a baby's behind with no scarring.
Now, plain salt water DOES NOT WORK.
There is something about the ocean water that heals. My theory is that its all the seaweed, fish poo, salt, sand and natural live bacteria that cure it. Whatever it is, it works wonders.

You can not get rid of it, you can only keep it under control. I use tar soap and a good moisturizer to keep my skin moist. I also heard of a fluorescent light treatment. There are a lot of people who have gotten the treatment and it has worked for them.
Keep strong, I went through some personal hell behind psoriasis when I was young, it really got me down. When I learned to accept it it was easier to go through the day.

I also am a sufferer I think but the doctors do not know what it is exactly I have tried tea tree oil the bar soap and the straight tree oil.... that helps some people but mine is weird it traveled from one hand to the other and now when I have a really bad break out I usually have to wrap them up in band aids and let my skin get really soft and smelly then I'm able to take them out for a few days without the itching and the burning but would love some different treatments if possible E mail me if you know anything better thanks

It's hard, but you have to focus and really get in the habit of saying "I'm not going to scratch this right now." When you catch yourself, stop. I know it's hard, but you have to develop will power. After throwing those useless pills, Apply homemade remedy to cure yourself simply
