the gift of knowledge is to know about a particular issue that you were are not previously knowledgeable about naturally. It is revealed through the spirit and is similar to discerning. For example, the gift of knowledge was illustrated in the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11
The gift of wisdom is being able to act upon what is known or unknown based on pure spiritual direction so that the outcome fits directly with the situation at hand and provides direct edification. The gift of wisdom was illustrated in Acts 2 when Peter stood up to speak to the people on the day of Pentecost.
These gifts are given freely to everyone who will receive and at times each of us as Christians, can attest to the fact that there are times when we just do not know how to handle or approach a situation and then from just throwing up our hands and saying God just do your thing, the words that we utter leave us in amazement.
For example, there are times when i just get the urge to send someone a text message , whether a scripture or just a personal message; then the person may call back and say that they were just asking God for a word or they were feeling down and just those few words got them back in line.
Here is a well simple example
WORD OF KNOWLEDGE
John is thinking of commiting suicide
WORD OF WISDOM
Approach John with caution and empathy and tell him how important he is to the church and others
God bless

See if you ca find the answer here...
Almost everybody can be a Christian, but Jesus was telling everybody that only very, very few make it to Heaven...
Matthew 7:13-14 (Jesus said) "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
And of the only FEW WHO FIND the narrow gate not all of them will be able to get in...
Luke 13:23-24 (NIV) Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
On top of that you need to hate your own family to follow Jesus!
Matthew 10:34-37 niv
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
your enemies will be the members of your own household.' "Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves a son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
MERRY CHRISTMAS…! HO…! HO…! HO…! Oops, sorry… that was not Jesus! If it weren’t for Santa the Christian Christmas is full of innocent Jewish Baby boys that had to be slaughtered when Jesus was born!
Luke 14:26 (NIV) Jesus Christ said, "If anyone comes to me and does not HATE* (*Greek=miseo=to abhor!) his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple."
Luke 14:33 (NIV) In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.
Mark 10:28-30 (NIV) Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!" "I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age [RIGHT NOW!!!] homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--and with them, persecutions and in the age to come, eternal life.
Hey… how about giving Jesus a big hand for his good incentive to follow him? The acid test comes when Jesus finds out that you are neither hot nor cold and pukes you out of his Holy Belly... (Revelation 3:16) and on top of that the Bible tells you that only a dog goes back to eat his own vomit! But what the heck… we all love Jesus!

King James Dictionary Defines wisdom as:
Wisdom
WISDOM, n. s as z. G. See Wise.
1. The right use or exercise of knowledge; the choice of laudable ends, and of the best means to accomplish them. This is wisdom in act, effect, or practice. If wisdom is to be considered as a faculty of the mind, it is the faculty of discerning or judging what is most just, proper and useful, and if it is to be considered as an acquirement, it is the knowledge and use of what is best, most just, most proper, most conducive to prosperity or happiness. Wisdom in the first sense, or practical wisdom, is nearly synonymous with discretion. I differs somewhat from prudence, in this respect; prudence is the exercise of sound judgment in avoiding evils; wisdom is the exercise of sound judgment either in avoiding evils or attempting good. Prudence then is a species, of which wisdom is the genus.
and Knowledge as this:
KNOWL'EDGE, n. nol'lej.
1. A clear and certain perception of that which exists, or of truth and fact; the perception of the connection and agreement, or disagreement and repugnancy of our ideas.
We can have no knowledge of that which does not exist. God has a perfect knowledge of all his works. Human knowledge is very limited, and is mostly gained by observation and experience.
2. Learning; illumination of mind.
Ignorance is the curse of God, knowledge the wing wherewith we fly to heaven.
3. Skill; as a knowledge of seamanship.
4. Acquaintance with any fact or person. I have no knowledge of the man or thing.
5. Cognizance; notice. Ruth 2.
6. Information; power of knowing.
7. Sexual intercourse. But it is usual to prefix carnal; as carnal knowledge.
Ok--after reading these definitions, I wasn't happy with what it said, as to referring to these gifts. So I did a search and found this website: http://www.christcenteredmall.com/teachings/gifts/word-of-knowledge.htm
Word of Knowledge
Category Revelation Gift
Definition The supernatural comprehension of Christ and His Word.
Examples Noah building the Ark. (Genesis 6:14-22)
Joshua knowing about Achan's sin.
(Joshua 7:10-11)
Elisha knowing that Gehazi lied to Naaman.
(II Kings 5:20-27)
A word of knowledge is a definite conviction, impression, or knowing that comes to you in a similitude (a mental picture), a dream, through a vision, or by a Scripture that is quickened to you. It is supernatural insight or understanding of circumstances, situations, problems, or a body of facts by revelation; that is, without assistance by any human resource but solely by divine aid.
Furthermore, the gift of the word of knowledge is the transcendental revelation of the divine will and plan of God. It involves moral wisdom for right living and relationships, requires objective understanding concerning divine things in human duties, and refers to knowledge of God or of the things that belong to God, as related in the Gospel.
The gifts of the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge function together; knowledge is raw material and wisdom builds on it.
and wisdom
Category Revelation Gift
Definitions Seeing life from God's perspective.
Examples Paul before the council (Acts 23:6)
Jesus' answer to the question regarding taxes (Matthew 22:15-22)
The temptation of Jesus (Luke 4:1-14)
There are three types of wisdom:
The wisdom of God (I Corinthians 2:6-7)
The wisdom of the world (I Corinthians 2:6)
The wisdom of man (Ecclesiastes 1:16-18)
The gift of the word of wisdom is the application of knowledge that God gives you ( I Corinthians 2:6-7). This type of wisdom is a gift which cannot be gained through study or experience and should by no means try to replace them. The gift of the word of wisdom is seeing life from God's perspective. As a Christian exercises this gift, he begins to develop a fear of the Lord. This is the "beginning of wisdom" according to Proverbs 1:7.
The gift of the word of wisdom is also the revealing of prophetic future; it is speaking hidden truths of what is not known. It is a supernatural perspective to ascertain the divine means for accomplishing God's will in a given situation, and is a divinely given power to appropriate spiritual intuition in problem solving.
Furthermore, this gift involves having a sense of divine direction, being led by the Holy Spirit to act appropriately in a given set of circumstances, and rightly applying knowlege.
The gift of wisdom is the wisdom of God. It is the supernatural impartation of facts; it is not natural. You can't earn it. It is received from God through prayer (Ephesians 1:17).
The gift of the word of wisdom works interactively with the other two revelation gifts: knowledge and discernment.
From what I'm reading here, these two go hand in hand. Discernment defined by this same website is: "Recognizing what is of God verses the world, the flesh, and the devil. "
To answer your question, I'd say they're less similar and more needed to supply eachother. Knowledge guides wisdom.
How is this manifested in my life? Well, I'd say God uses my knowledge to go forth. I've never necessarily been called wise until recently. I don't know what to do with that. I don't want to become proud and claim these gifts. I want to stay humble and just let God do the work through me as I offer my gifts to him and the service of his kingdom.
How have they shaped my worship, prayer, life? Honestly, peope have called me wise lately and it just puts on the pressure. It makes me aware of my actions more and causes me to want to watch myself and be sure I don't screw up. I realize people are watching me. I pray that God's gifts come forth, and I hold my tongue more. I don't want to speak rashly and say things from the flesh and not the spirit. I want to be a good Godly example to everyone, that God shines forth.
Thank you for this question. I hope my answers have helped, however long definitions.
Love and in Christ
