I'm an atheist but I want to be fair and offer my son a chance to look at the other side of the coin and to let him make up his mind.

Am I the only one who can see the humor in this question?

I think the author meant it to make light of the fact the bible is filled with violence and sexual references and that it should NOT be shown to children.

Well worded question my friend!

You are out of luck! The sacred Scriptures in the Judeo/Christian/Muslim world is full of sex and violence of the worst kind!!! I won't quote you the Quoran because it turns my stomach... but here is a sample of the Bible!

Ezekiel 23:20 - There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

1 Corinthians 5:1-2 - It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. And you are proud!* (*BTW... this is a Church "full of the Holy Ghost!")

Lawl, sorry kid but the Bible is all about sex and violence. Fiction or true, it's what they believe happened, so either pick up a normal bible or just don't follow it. Why hide the scandel and murder and portray "jesus" as some sort of higher being?

lol-what you want to replace one myth with a kinder gentler myth-i bet that you can find some childrens bible that does that-its great-you wont scare the kids into thinking how crazy this is with the killing in the name of love----just my thoughts-smile and enjoy the day

Wait until the kid is old enough to handle the truth. God protects your child until the age of accountability.

Then give them to him and let him make up his own mind. If you don't like them, then you are needing to be single minded and either give them to him and do that, or don't give them to him and do that. You are in conflict because you have chosen a path that brings it to light.

So either censor, or let him have it. The problem isn't the Bible, it's you.

By the way, when I see AM attached to someone's name, I block them. Just FYI.

the quran is neither sexy nor voilent.it says never attack but defend yourselves when they attack u.or if some 1 does some kind of harm 2 your body do the SAME with them but god will forgive u if u also forgive them.and about sex.u cant resist.its stupid t avoid sex cuz its a natural desire to keep humans on this planet.there r 4 or 5 verces in the quran about sex.and thats it.if u seriously have questions about the quran ask me via email

Is the principle message of the bible? That jesus gets beaten and nailed to a cross?

Leave out the sex and violence - why bother?

My seven year old daughter loves this site:

Yes, there's sex and violence, but they're Lego people, so it's not so bad.

:O

ADD: You can also order book-versions of the stories.
