Does anyone know the reason why the United Nations chose to hold an International conference in a small island like Bali, Indonesia? Is there any special reason?
You can give any opinion. I will really appreciate that.
Thanks in Advance!!

Because it's a party town, and these politicians want to have a big celebration after their conference.

Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world, after China, India, and the US. It just happens to be on a bunch of islands.

Bali has a large number of hotels and conference facilities.

The UN likes to hold conferences at nations all around the world, as part of bringing diverse people together in understanding. How many people even know how big Indonesia is? Or that, after Brazil, it has the world's second richest ecosystems?

It is a way to dump your end of the year global warming budget. If you do not spend all of your budget in the fiscal year, you will not get the same amount of funding next year.

So.. what better way to spend money than a boondoggle.

Definitions 2 through 5 all work, in this context.

boon·dog·gle /ˈbunˌdɒgəl, -ˌdɔgəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[boon-dog-uhl, -daw-guhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, -gled, -gling.

–noun

1. a product of simple manual skill, as a plaited leather cord for the neck or a knife sheath, made typically by a camper or a scout.

2. work of little or no value done merely to keep or look busy.

3. a project funded by the federal government out of political favoritism that is of no real value to the community or the nation.

–verb (used with object)

4. to deceive or attempt to deceive: to boondoggle investors into a low-interest scheme.

–verb (used without object)

5. to do work of little or no practical value merely to keep or look busy.

Because they're a bunch of hypocrites who want to change the way WE live but not let it cut into their own lifestyle.

If they truly believed in Carbon Dioxide driven Catastrophic Global Warming, they would have chosen a venue that produced the smallest "Carbon Footprint."

My guess is, that's somewhere in either the Northeastern United States (close to all the US and Canadian researchers, with easy access to Europe) or London/Paris (miserable weather in December, you know).

But NO - these prophets of Doom and Gloom chose to fly (first class probably) to a tropical paradise!

They don't really want to change lifestyles of the rich and well funded - they want to punish the little people who are too stupid to understand the boondoggle!

Why does it switch from "global warming" to "climate change?" I know why. The UN, some scientist, some politicians have no real data to back up their claim. They want it to be so "wishy washy" so most people, even well educated, will believe it to be true. Also, they use low level education to indoctrinate young children to believe it before they grow up.

Dr. Jello is correct! PARTY TIME! for Hollywood types and politicians------- ever been there?

It's a very nice place to VACATION! and think about this------- all the CO2 those Jumbo Jets put into the atmosphere ------- and those private jets-------- your downsizing to a small car, is really kind of silly isn't it. But remember you are not a member of the elite class--- they don't follow the "rules".

Only the UN knows why it does what it does. I am sure it is political reasons though.
