I recently moved from Kansas City, MO to Florida and I just got a personal property tax bill for my car. What happens if I don't pay it since I no longer live in Missouri?

MO will go after you for this. If you lived in MO and owned this vehicle on 1/1/07, you owe the tax and must pay it.

They can suspend your right to operate if you don't pay it. That will suspend your license nationwide. You could be in for a rude shock if you're stopped by the police.

They will send you a bill with a late charge. And then another. Then they will suspend your license until bill is paid. The next time you go to renew your Fla. license you will be in for a surprise. Just pay and save yourself trouble down the road.

the Government has been know to hunt people down and hang them. Maybe not hang but scratch there backs with jolly rancher Juices. Or play loud music when there trying to go to sleep. Or the worst drive slow in front of you, while your trying to drive fast.

Just call them and let them know that you moved. If you do nothing they could send it to a collection agency and put it on your credit history as an unpaid bill.
