What should be the punishment for the author?

I am a devout Atheist and in the name of my NoGod I am outraged! How dare the unnamed catoonist make an obscure and vague statement that may or may not cast my religion in a light that is not entirely obsequious!
In the name of nothing I declare a Fatwa upon this fidel!
I and my fellow Atheists will be marching the streets chanting and beating our heads as soon as I can rally some support!
Furthermore, I resent the implication that Atheists are tolerant of others and open minded and interested in facts being taught to their children rather than dogma and heresay! We Atheists can be just as irrational, xenophobic, militant and offensive as any religious nutter!!!!!!

I'm not an atheist, but I just love answering ridiculous questions posed at them.

As a liberal, "free" thinker, and a non-christian, that supports all those things nailing the kid to the cross I say good, keep Christ out of my public school.

As an artist I am offended though. I find the composition with a lot of dead negative space, unfinished, and stylistically boring. The wolf is confusing, (wolves are killing Christ in school? What? Are they aware of this?). The witches head is oddly disproportionate to the rest of the body. I think the artist is using "shocking" material to cover up the fact that he or she is lacking in talent.

The authors punishment should be 4 years of intensive fine arts training in illustration at a top university or school.

LOL i dont think ive ever seen something more offensive!

200 lashings and a year in jail for insulting Islam.

i dont even know where to start..... atheistic critical thought? trans gender? SORCERY???? when was the last time you saw a sorcerer in public school? what on earth is militant homosexuality? i know lots of homosexuals... none of them who militantly push their views lol! WHY is the Islam guy holding dice?!!!? this is the pinnacle of ignorance, and was either created by the most close minded individual on earth or done as a satire by a secularist.

in case you somewhat have self belief that Atheists worship Richard Dawkins, then you honestly're puzzled as to what an Atheist is. especially in case you imagine that all of us have self belief interior a similar guy, this is slightly ironic. area of me thinks you requested this question basically to work out what kinds of responses you'll get. Ah nicely, such is existence.

Wait...what? I don't understand... The cross is Public school, and those people are all around while the Body of Christ is nailed to the school? Does that mean that the author is against standing idly by while Jesus's corpse rots atop a school building? Is he against Jesus being taught in school? Are we crucifying school children and calling them Jesus after the fact? I just don't understand....

I think it is very stupid! It shows how desperate is the Clergy to hold onto what they got! It is a diversion from the US Senate investigation of fraudulent preachers who can't wait until they get to Heaven to receive their reward!... Oops... Jesus promised them to be rewarded here on this Earth! Wow... oh well!

Luke 14:33 (NIV) In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

Mark 10:28-30 (NIV) Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!" "I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age [RIGHT NOW!!!] homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--and with them, persecutions and in the age to come, eternal life.

Hey… how about giving Jesus a big hand for his good incentive to follow him? The acid test comes when Jesus finds out that you are neither hot nor cold and pukes you out of his Holy Belly... (Revelation 3:16) and on top of that the Bible tells you that only a dog goes back to eat his own vomit! But what the heck… we all love Jesus!

Edit: BTW... Christians feed on that kind of cartoons!

I personally did not like the cartoon but why should the artist be "punished" ? This is America freedom of speech and all that you know, those little things covered under that constitution/declaration thing. And the Christ thing..he was not a child.
This is typical fundamentalist fear-based ignorant propaganda meant to rile some folks up

Not offensive so much as predictable; lacking in substance and imagination. The cartoonist (we don't call them "authors") should be ordered to stay away from the local roadhouse for a week, during which time he attends some courses on cultural diversity...

Just as I wouldn't be offended by a 5 year old calling me names, I can't be offended by a crazy person saying everybody's evil.

That cartoon pretty much sums up why Christians are crazy, though, and ignorant, and a detriment to society.

They won't see it that way, of course. If they did, they wouldn't be Christians.

But on a positive note, Christians are proving more and more every single day that their cult is a hindrance to civilization, and the recent outbursts by them is one of their symptoms. They are showing symptoms because they are dying out.

And I'm glad I got to live in this time period to see it. We're headed to a new age of enlightenment. I just hope global warming doesn't kill us off, just when we're finally starting to get it right....

I think its ridiculous. No punishment other than the sentence of going through life as a moron for the author/artist. Anyone with a thoughtful open mind can see the black/white fallacy strewn persecution complex thinking behind this.
