Some research shows that using certain hairdye can increase one's chance of developing cancer. The chemicals in man-made hairdye (ie. not henna, indigo, etc.) are, as you probably know, harmful to the developing fetus, which is why pregnant women are strongly encouraged to stop using hairdye for the duration of their pregnancies. Hairdye is damaging for everybody's hair. The Hair dyes are manufactured with chemicals and some chemicals can really contain carcinogenic properties like pesticides and may cause cancer. At the same time all the users of hair dye are not getting cancer.

So if a person is unlucky he may get cancer. but to be on the safe side it is better to avoid using hair dyes-

There is a correlation between women who dyed their hair many years ago, like in the 60s, and incidence of cancer. But dyes have changed greatly over the years and do not have the kind of chemicals they used then.

There IS plenty of evidence that long-term hair dying causes it to thin. Look at any woman in her 50s who does it. It's blatantly obvious to everyone but the woman herself.

I dye my hair and I'm 16 xP LOL.

But I heard that if you're young, your scalp is still developing and if you dye your hair the chemicals from the dye would seep into your scalp and gives you some chances of cancer >.>" But I'm not really sure though.

Hair Dye is a chemical. Most of the chemicals, including hair dye have carcinogenic and/or toxic properties. Therefore, therotically, hair dye could cause cancer.

However, there are also several day to day use chemicals which have similar properties and we do use them.

Therefore, decision needs to be yours only.
