My Girlfriend normally does the cooking at our appartment.

It all started when I thought I'll get my family together. Bad decision.
My girlfriend brought a dish, etc. and people started comparing food, just toying with her. But she didn't take it as a joke.
That was yesterday.
Now she's putting on her 11y/o girl tantrum all day and always reminding me about yesterday's get together. She's starting to bear-hug my leg - and not letting go!

What do I with her?
Are you jealous of your in-law's cooking?
Any stories about past experiences?

my mother in law don't cook. My father in law makes many great dishes. My husband loves certain dishes my father in law makes and I have to say I can not make some of his dishes as well as him. When my husband is in the mood for something my father in law cooks better then me I send him over to his house to pick up dinner.

My mil can't cook. She burns stuff and gets distracted too easily. She even cooked a head of lettuce once thinking it was a roast. Tell your girlfriend to lighten up. Let your mom do all the cooking when you go there. She can cook for you when it's just the two of you. If she's acting like a baby about it tell her to go to her room until she's ready to act like an adult. LOL

Isn't always funny how family get togethers can leave bad aftertastes in peoples mouths?

I've had that a few times. People are funny that way.

If the rag on her cooking again, she needs to stand up for herself and say something to them, not beat you over the head with it. Hopefully, she'll learn this in time. (my sisters were like that with almost every women i dated.) The only one they truly liked was the one that stood up for herself and said something back to them. "she's got spirit, keep her." was their comment.

For as much as it's harmless ribbing, their 'feeling' her out to see how she reacts. It's actually normal.

"My girlfriend brought a dish, etc. and people started comparing food, just toying with her"

Umm why are they comparing they're food with hers? They sound like the competitive and jealous ones to me.

You've got to be joking. What do you do with her? Well, I've got one child so I certainly don't want one in a boyfriend. Since, I'm an adult, I tend to date adults and should I find that one of them doesn't act like an adult, they are out of my life.
