It's a religion/cult that was created by L Ron Hubbard on a bet with some other authors. He tried to expose it but his son was making too much money off of it, so he recanted. I'd look it up on Wikki for more information, or search answer for the other times this question has been asked.

It is relatively new on the Religious scene. This is the reason that I have not studied it thoroughly but I also have been reading and studying the Bible for the last twenty years rather than attempting to find a "New Answer to it". It seems to a man who trust statistic report very much. He only senses tested and results. He may not know the result will basically on certain regional and circumstances and chances and timeing gethering to have a result.
