I've had diabetes for about a year now. I've quit alcohole altogether and now looking to further things.

Alcohole was one of the easy ones, but I know what I need to face will be hard. Oh, well, I geuss it needs to be done either way.

Which should I kick first? unhealthy eating or smoking?

There's no question in my mind, I did both at the same time, and boy, am I glad I did. I feel so much better and can do so many more things. I'm 56 now and feel like I did when I was 40. I've been eating right, quit smoking 16 months ago, exercise every day, and can do things I only dreamed about two years ago. Just jump aboard the health train with both feet, you won't regret it next year when you start to feel the benefits. Just imagine going on a hike up and down hills and not having to stop for a breather. That's how I am today.

you need to work on both. unhealthy diet will increase the blood sugar level which will make you more prone to other kind of internal health hazards and smoking will worsen it as it will start affect the already weak internal body organs like heart, lungs, kidney,etc.

smoking definetly. it can screw up ur life bad man. then quit the unhealthy diet to maintain a good blood sugar. its gonna be tough, but i've been there and believer me you'll be glad you did it.

unhealthy eating first...cuz its probably easier to do. Once youve switched to healthier foods it will give you the confidence to know u can quit smoking
