There are numerous cook books that focus on the subject of healthy eating. Also, your dietitian or diabetic nurse educator should have references and perhaps websites for you to inspect.

There are many other choices besides seafood in a healthy diet, but I think it's time for hubby to step up to the plate and meet you more than half way when it comes to your diet.

Picky eating toddlers were the bane of my existence for over thirty years. After retirement, it continues with my own grandchildren. Not one of them has come close to starvation. Hunger overcomes obstinacy.

There are a couple really good recipe books for slow cookers for diabetics, they are great. I am a type 1 just found out 6 years ago, mother of a 3year old and a 7year old. Its hard adjustment but it is possible. Good luck

you can also eat the same food your family eats but only the difference is that you can not eat sugars and all sweet products, all soft drinks, sweetened fruit juices, chocolates etc.

to have fresh vegetable salad, fruits except mango, grapes, sapota, dates you can eat any but preferably not fully ripe as there will be more sugars in fully ripe fruits. But this is also true that fruit sugars are not that bad as refined sugars.

Have lentils, legumes (beans) moderately which again is very healthy.

use fat free milk or low fat milk and its products is also very healthy.

have lean meat, poultry and fish cooked with very little fat.

other fats in moderation.

what you have to do is to make little compromise in food selection for yourself.though you can also eat the same food what your family eats.

don't forget to do some exercise which is very important along with diet.

good luck !!!
