That is what you would call "BS".

Unless your sister is a registered dietitian, I would tell her to keep her mouth shut about things like this.

Well, I don't know if this is true or not, but I've heard that if a woman is pregnant with a boy, then she shouldn't have soy products, or the guy will have a small penis for the rest of his life. This is because soy contains a hormone called phyto-estrogen, which might retard a male's growth. But don't fret- the world is notorious for making up myths

Growing research is pointing to suggest that soy products are not good for growing baby boys as they contain female like hormones that interfears with a boys hormonal system. Unfortunatally there is a time lag effect. Soy in the west had only become popular in the last 30 odd years and they eat far much more than that is eaten in the east. We if there is any bad effects about soya we will only see taking effect in about 20-30 years time.

Another thing is that there is so much disinformation out there you can't trust anyone to give you a senseable answer about soya.

But like all food sources the key is balance portions.

Nonsense.

My wife is a Dietitian with a Master's Degree in Nutrition, that's what she told her cousin when he asked her that. My wife's nutrition knowledge is highly respected by several medical doctors. They just go along with whatever recommendation she makes.

There are all kinds of ridiculous stories about nutrition that come and go. Yesterday it was "carbs", now it's "soy." People love fads. Unfortunately, it can be very difficult to tell the bad information from the good information if you don't know where to look.

There was one research study that seemed to suggest (inconclusively) that women who eat soy are more likely to have female babies. Maybe that's what she's referring to.
