I think that people who are .HIV positive should continue to have sex. I am HIV positive and I still have sex and live life to the fullest. I just be careful not to infect anyone else. That is why I prefer a positive mate. Life does go on after being infected.

There isn't any reason why you shouldn't continue to have sex. You should just make sure it's safe sex.

If your baby girl is negative, there is an excellent chance that your partner (the baby girl's mother) is HIV negative also.

I'm going to make the assumption here that you are talking about continuing to have sex with the baby girl's mother (not always an assumption that is correct to make I guess), but you should really be discussing it with HER and not us.

If she chooses not to have sex with you because she does not want to take the risk of contracting HIV even if you have safe sex, well, that is her choice. (NOT OURS - or really not even yours)

Well! Lucky baby!

I don't think anyone is going to argue with you if you and your partner wish to continue to have sex (or wish to stop, for that matter). The main concern is that they should avoid spreading the disease and therefore if they have a HIV negative partner they should discuss this with their partner and be having safe sex. Some authorities suggest that even if you and your partner both have HIV, you should continue to have safe sex because IF the two of you have different strains of HIV and infect each other with the different strains your disease can become much worse.

those with HIV have every right to have sex with a consenting partner who knows the risks. As long as both parties are aware of the risks and in agreement about safe sex practices then there shouldn't be an issue. I believe this is true with all STD's. Anything that can be passed from being intimate should be discussed and consented to beforehand so there is no misunderstanding or mistrust.

Yes you should continue to have sex, but the use of safe sex is definately important. Being open and honest with any partners or future potential partners need to be informed about the situation they are entering. Ultimately sex is a natural drive for all of us but you do need to take the appropriate measure to keep yourself and others safe. So proceed but use extreme precautions.

I think that as long as the right precautions are taken and if and when someone who is positive is pregnant, they take the correct steps to try to make the baby live a healthy life, i dont see any problems with it.

I think that people who know they are positive should tell their partners up front. I also think sexually active people should get tested regularly. There are thousands of people who have HIV and do not even know it.

Whoever you have sex with should know you are HIV positive.
