Sorry you may have seen this up before but i'm really worried and trying to find some stuff out!!
My grampie (grandpa) is 79 years old and has a clogging artery that just keeps getting bigger!! My Nanny (gramma) took him to his regular check up in Halifax and was told that he had a clogging artery yeah!! Anyways the family (cousins,aunts,uncles,etc...grandkids,kids) were told that he may come through the surgery but they don't think he'll come of the resperator!! I was just wondering what you would think the length of the open heart surgery would take?? They the doctors can't do the balloon thinggy up the pelvis because he's not the right candidate?? Whatever that means!
Anyways I'm his youngest grandchild who is so so so so worried about him i love him to piece and i just can't image him gone!! It would be really hard for my Nanny anyways thank you!!!!

The entire surgery can take 4-6 hours. After the surgery, the patient is taken to the Intensive Care Unit. For a few days after the surgery, the patient is connected to monitors and tubes.

That's too vague. What's the surgery? A bypass, an angioplasty, are they inserting a pacemaker? I would say probably three hours on average.

Differs with the needed surgery INSIDE the heart.
What are they doing in there exactly?

Depends on the proceedure.
Luck with that..
I'm sure everything will work out alright eventually
keep well, you and your friends and family.

I'm assuming due was a typo? I think it takes around 6 to 7 hours. Not quite sure though.
