Carbon offsets go towards lining the pockets of the "carbon traders" PERIOD. http://forum.evilcarbon.com

You don't. I think all carbon offsets are a scam not to be trusted. If you insist on offsetting your carbon emissions by paying money (an absurd thing to do in my opinion, but hey, whatever floats your boat), you would be MUCH better off by giving the money to a specific project that you deem worthy of your contribution. Like helping someone buy solar panels who otherwise could not afford it.

Oh, I see Dr. Jello has volunteered to help out. Actually, I wouldn't mind some solar panels on my roof, but $50,000 is a little high for my wallet, so after you pay for his windows, contact me.

I will replace my old energy inefficient windows if you want to pay to offset the carbon I would use this winter.

I'll show you before and after pictures as proof

To be honest, I don't...but it does ease my conscience and that is what lets me sleep at night so I am willing to take the risk. And I am also one of those disgusting 'glass is half full' type of people and want to believe it so it must be true.
