Could that be step one on the road to peace?

They could all convert and apply for aliyah. Once they get there...well Israel IS a democratic country and treats all its citizens equally and all, so if they later decided they had made a terrible mistake and switched back to Islam or Christianity, what could Israel do except grin and bear it?

I just realized that I asked this question on R&S and not Israel where I had intended. You could check it out over there, too.

ewaise- I'm familiar with the case. That was a little fasciciousness on my part, as we have many on this forum who insist that Israel teats all its citizens absolutely equally.

ivri_ano- Despite being a well-read Muslim, I've never heard of the document to which you refer. I looked online, but found only references on Islam-bashing sites. I am familiar, however, with the Costitution of Medina, drawn up at the time of the Prophet and have included a link here for interested parties. There are a number of references here to the Jewish tribes of Medina and their status. Please read carefully.

Does anyone see the irony of the fact that people can spend their whole lives in a refugee camp in the Occupied Territories or around the Middle East, but as soon as they hypothetically profess Judaism, they are free to go back to the home that was theirs to begin with! A truly perplexing form of "secular" democracy!

Israel is wary of such fake conversion. Furthermore, the Jewish conversion is lengthy and arduous, and only one who really wanted to be Jewish would finish it. One can't just say 'poof! I'm a Jew' and be a Jew. It takes years of study to be accepted. However, if in theory the Palestinians all converted to Judaism then that would bring peace to the region. Israel would annex the West Bank and Gaza (with the blessing of the former Palestinians), and the Arab countries without the excuse of Palestinian oppression would be forced to recognize Israel.

Do you incredibly think of that the two Israel, or the international, might have self assurance that any Palestinians might prefer to be Jewish? Do you think of that we are that naive? We see the programmes approximately us on Palestinian television and we are left in little question as to what many Palestinians think of approximately us. i'm advantageous you probably did no longer intend your question to be insulting, yet i come across it to be so. ARTHUR - very solid factors. EDIT JOHN F - please tell me how, if as you declare 'apartheid' happens in Israel, how that's that Israeli Arabs sit down interior the parliament there? That they no longer purely vote yet in addition create coverage? That Israeli Arabs have an identical rights and freedoms as their Jewish and Christian pals, colleagues and neighbours? If it is so unfavourable for Israeli Arabs, why are they nevertheless there? i'm going to respond to this one for you: because of the fact they're dealt with properly in Israel. I met various when I lived obtainable, so i comprehend this to be real.

You remind me of a Joke: Bush and Moubarak (egyptian Pres) were in a convention. Both at night dreamed the same dream, standing before G-D, and they were given one question to ask: So Bush asked G-D: When US will rule over the world. G-D answered in 50 years.
Bush start to cry. G-d asked him why you are crying. Bush answered it wont be on my time. G-d said dont worry it will be on one of your kids time.
Moubarak asked G-d the same question: When the Arabs will rule over the world?
G-d start to cry.

Moral: You cant suppose something it will never happen, 0% chance of it.

why should the Palestinians convert, it's THEIR country. And who wants to convert to Judaism? That religion was enough to get you to heaven like 1500 years ago not now. There's been 2 Prophets since then.

la wallah Hebrew Hammer, mo khoosh ibshara hay. loool.

(oh no Hebrew Hammer, that's not good news.) Maybe I'll convert to Judaism and marry a guy with pigtails then!

Judaism is SOOO kind.

Yebamoth 98a. All gentile children are animals. Abodah Zarah 36b. Gentile girls are in a state of niddah (filth) from birth. Baba Mezia. Jews are human beings ; the other peoples of the world are not human beings, but beasts. Abodah Zorah 22a-22b. Non-Jews prefer do sex with cows.

Sanhedrin 58b. If a heathen (gentile) hits a Jew, the gentile must be killed.

Moed kattan 17a. If a Jew is tempted to do evil he should go to a city where he is not known and do the evil there.

Shabbath 116a. Jews must destroy the books of the Christians, i.e. the New Testament [ Dr. Israel Shahak of Hebrew University reports that the Israelis burned hundreds of New Testament Bibles in Occupied Palestine on March 23, 1980 (cf. Jewish History, Jewish religion, p.21 ). ]

Wow, sign me up. I must convert to this kind religion.

Sorry, once a Jew, always a Jew. If you convert to Judaism, you really can't get out. And I'm sure they wouldn't be converted, because it's very difficult to convert, especially in Israel, and it takes years to do. With 'mass conversions' I'm sure the rabbis would see through this facade and mark it as political aspiration, and wouldn't perform the conversions anyways.

Well yes they could make an aliyah.
but since there was a mass conversion, they would be inspected if they are really jews and not just wanting to come to israel.

and also im not sure the palestinians would want to convert.

also Ultra National dosent like converted palestinians.

B yeah its easyer to get to heaven with the other two, in the one you can just repent , and the other, well you can blow yourself up. reallll cool religions! really! no ****, how do you think they got so many people to join, by one you can kill rape and steal all your life and repent at the end, and the other you can kill non muslims and go to heaven..... great!

Technically you are correct.

Though a mass conversion would be difficult to orchestrate considering that it takes about a year of study and classes for someone to convert.

but if it did happen they could not lose their citizenship after the fact.

It is a funny thought though, I welcome them to try it, who knows they might not want to convert back =P

Israel is not Jewish state most Israelis are not religious by all means and there are many Israelis who object to calling Israel a religious Jewish state. Most agree that Israel is secular Zionist state. The religious Jewish political parties are minority parties and secular Zionist parities ruled Israel for the last 60 years.

The palestinian population is almost big enough to take over ersatz israel. So I don't think anyone would have to convert.

I think that you are underestimating the difficulty of an orthodox conversion and the aliyah application process. we are not easily fooled.
