It is pronounced slightly different from the way it is spelled. The way it is spelled is:
sha-war-ma
It is pronounced as:
shaa - as in SHAman
wur - as in liverWURst
ma - as in the Jamaican pronounciation of MAn

If you live in LA, try Zankou Chicken they have some good shawurma. By the way it does sound the way its spelled, if you ever do try Zankou, also try the shawurma sandwich, oh my God that is an addictive food.

i love it, cant find a place like the one katchim selik used to run in 707 broadway in los angeles 6th floor back in the 90s. the best shawurma ever.
