Yes, just after my boyfriend called ma a tree hugger. I wanted to embrace my "green-ness!"

Yes, since I am a druid and an environmentalist, and since I do have a sense of humour, be that is it may, yes; I did in fact embrace at least one tree.
I think I have embraced a post oak, another type of oak which I cannot name here because the name would violate the yahoo norm, also a live oak which I planted in my yard in Georgia, and a magnolia which I also planted not far from the live oak, but far enough so each if it grows to maturity, may allow the other some space to grow and shade.

When I walk to work in the summer, the heat is like a fire. I pass a beautiful, green tree - it's branches and leaves giving me shelter from the heat. As I walked past this wonderful tree, I would say in a low voice (afraid people think I'm crazy for talking to a tree) G-d bless you. Sometimes, I would touch her leaves gently too.
OK, it's not tree hugging, but that's how I felt and that's what I did.

I can't recall ever doing that. I'm sure I would have if somebody called me a "tree hugger."
When I lived in Texas, I heard a guy tell somebody else to "hug a root" once. I have no idea what that meant; apparently it was some kind of insult.
I have hugged toilets a few times in the past, but that was in my drinking days.

Yes, we went on some tour of a huge nursery where they raise rare palnts. There was this one tree, I don't remember what it's real name is, but they have nicknamed it "the tree of life" because it contains water and people have used them to survive. Well, according to our guide, it's good luck to hug them, so everyone in our little tram thingy did! It was nice and cool feeling due to the water inside, so that was sort of neat!

Yes. I was moving some small trees, so I bear-hugged them and lifted them out of the ground to replant them somewhere else.

I have a tree in my backyard that looks like it is waving when the wind blows it. Every time I see it waving at me I run outside and hug it. I figure if it takes the time to wave hello to me, I'll take the time to hug it.
