If you are unprotected, pretty high TBH. Just be careful. Perhaps get to know him first?

Well, I'm guessing you didn't ask him his sexual history, nor did you ask him if he had any STD's, nor did you use a condom.
Why do you think you are mature enough to have sex???
If he is HIV positve, then your chances of catching the virus are good. Of course if he has any other STD's, your chances of catching those are even better.
Don't you just love the fact that to be cleared of some of those things like HIV and Herpes you will have to be tested and retested and retested for up to two years? So now you can live with that uncertainty for a long, long, time.
Hope you think to use protection next time. Don't want to be exposing anyone else to anything you have or you to something new.
Go started the testing treadmill now!

Your chances of getting it are very high.Every time you unprotected sex ,you put yourself on a risk unless you know for sure that the person you slept with are negative. It doesn't really have to do with only strangers but even if you are married you can be still in the risk if your partner is unfaithful.I thunk the only way to fully protect your self is suds tine from sex all together

High I would say. Why would you sleep with a guy you don't know that well, especially without protection!? Especially with STI rates being so high. Come on, gain some self respect and protect yourself from the nasty sh** that some arseholes will knowingly pass on to you. Get tested and get some condoms.
And, yes, I know this is a bit of a rant, but I really think people need to be aware of the bloody risks they are taking with their fertility and sometimes lives just by sleeping with someone without protection. I bet loads of people thumbs down me for this, but for once I really don't care! Unprotected sex with strangers is almost the same as self harm.

chances are if he is sleeping with someone he hardly knows then you can be sure he sleeps with others he hardly knows.

Obviously there is a chance as there are so many people in the world with HIV...... I hope you protected yourselves, then you have nothing to worry about. if not, go get a check.

depends what part of the world you are in.... a *BIG* percentage of the population in South Africa has HIV/AIDS. in the UK, the percentage is a hell of a lot smaller

depends on the person involved.. Is he a drug user, is he gay or bisexual, does he often have unprotected sex, has he visited Africa recently

overall, - in the US or UK, you are unlikely to get HIV from a one night stand...... you are much more likely to get gonorrhoea, chlamydia, syphilis, NSU, genital warts, herpes etc, etc

If you use a condom, your chances of getting an std are very, very, VERY low... it also stops unwanted pregnancy

{edit} i would like to know what the prurient moronic virgins above mean, when they say you would have a 'pretty high chance'?
do they all live in RSA? do they all routinely mix with intravenous drug users?
morons!

Doesn't matter if u know him well or not. some ppl carry a disease without knowing it until they get symptoms and sometimes if they do know it some don't tell their partner. So u have to becareful and use protection and try to protect urself. Just don't sleep with someone just cause ur horny. get to know them and if they care about u well enough than they'll get tested if u ask them too before u do anything.

Well..if he has it then obviously the chances are very good.

Don't have sex with people you don't know. And don't think it's impossible to catch something. You never accept the reality of it til it happens to you.

if it was protected sex, then it is unlikely.
if it was unprotected, it could be a possibility.
There are other STI's as well as HIV, you need to protect yourself

The risk is always present, especially if you don't use a condom. It is however easier to catch, hepatitis C, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis. Keep trying and the odds are you will eventually succeed.
