I am HIV positive and I have a 20 month old child who is negative. The think about having HIV is that there is a 0.5 % chance that if you have a child it will be burned with this illness. People like me we are living life and enjoying it. The way we look at it you can die from this just as you can from a car accident or develop Leukemia.

As far as this being a punishment from God if you believe that then my question to you is why would God punish people for having unprotected sex more then people who killed, lie and steal when in Gods eyes all sin is equal.

I do not believe it is a death sentence it is now considered a chronic disease (same as diabetes is classified) as there are many drugs to promote a long healthy semi-normal life, and as for this being punishment from God, God does not punish, God loves, Maybe God is allowing you to learn more about life ,appreciating your life and finding out who you really are and what you stand for, its a time to discover what you stand for and to learn to be strong. God loves us , He does not punish us, and every one is born so that they can one day die, does it matter how we see the end, or how we lived our life? Good luck.

YES, The death will be soon or later - There is no cure for AIDS, but treatment can keep the virus under control and the immune system healthy. People on HIV treatment can live a healthy, active life, although they may experience side effects from the treatment. If HIV is diagnosed late, treatment may be less effective in preventing AIDS.-

Granted we're all dying the moment we're conceived, but I imagine I would feel I was handed an upgrade on my pending death if I was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. I know people with this disease are living longer and I think its great that you are here saying you have it and you dont look at it as a death sentence. I wish you well.

Not always. Some of the new medications are allowing people to live longer, more productive lives than ever before. People with AIDS do not always die from this disease; sometimes it is other causes that contribute to their death. Most people, though, do view it as a death sentence - it is just a matter of when.

We have all received a death sentence from the moment we were born.
AIDS can be treated, if not cured. You must have hope! Hope is what sustains us all. Without it there is no reason to go on. With it all things are possible.
