That's not a very bright idea at all. Then all of the animals that the carnivores used to eat will become overpopulated. Also the carnivores would start eating plants too. With all that going on, the food supply would be depleted for the animals since they would all be eating plants, and the animals would suffer ten times worse. Many of them would suffer a slow and painful death of starvation. yeah, good idea, Einstein.

I highly doubt it...you'd have to change their whole metabolism, and how their bodies process the foods they eat, etc.
Also, why would you even want to do that? I also feel sorry for the animals killed for food, but that's just how certain animals are made. Not every creature can live off plants, and people need to understand that instead of trying to force animals to live by (fringe) human sentiments. For example, I get so upset when I hear vegetarians complaining that they want to keep carnivores or omnivores as pets, but then force them into "herbivores." Not only is it selfish, it's also just crazy, and it risks the animal's health. When some people complain "I want my cat to be a vegan just like me" it just makes that person look nuts.
Accept the food web! That's how it's always been, and it's like this for a reason.

Yes, you will be able to buy a genetically-modified pet to your specifications. You can have a gentle, fuzzy, vegetarian that excretes strawberries if you like. Of course, there are those who will order the fiercest carnivore they can get, like the junkyard dog of today. The military will have intelligent predators derived from arachnid and pterosaur DNA unlike anything we can imagine today. This will, of course escalate until we become the prey, causing human parents to order modifications to their offspring, making the children more capable of defending themselves. This, too, will get out of hand. And so on.

The brain and the senses are the hardware but the software is the mind, and the soul (emotional realm). It doesn't matter how big you make the brain because all it does is measure energy waves and all increasing its size does it allow it to make more measurements at once. The mind however deals with Truth (reality) and illusion and is created to decipher between the 2 when properly formed through correct knowledge.

I always think It is sad when people try to change the way things are. I am in tears now. Yeah lets torture these poor animals some more with scientific research and create something that we never intended to. Let nature alone. we change it enough don't you think?

Even if that were possible; there would probably be some unexpected consequence. It's not nice to fool Mother Nature.

I do not think that is possible, nor do I think it would be "right".
It would be upsetting the natural balance to such a degree that nothing good could come of it.

Yes. I think in the future it will be possible. But, they still won't actually do it.
