If I don't eat first thing in the morning, I get weak, shaky and black out, a few times I actually passed out. My hands are always shaking, but always worse if I don't eat on schedule. I pee a lot, even have to get up during the night to pee.I'm always craving milk...I've had my tubes tied, so it's definetly not pregnancy. I know diabetes runs in the family, but the DR's keep telling me that can't be it...I get migrains on a daily basis, and I havn't been able to sleep properly in about 4 years now...any ideas?

The common symptoms of type 1 and type 2 diabetes are similar and are directly related to the body's response to high blood sugar levels. The classic symptoms include excessive urination and thirst. When glucose is present in high levels in the blood, the kidneys produce higher volumes of urine. Thus, a person with untreated diabetes will have to empty the full bladder often. This can cause the body to become dehydrated, triggering the thirst response, resulting in excessive drinking. The volume of fluid that is lost in the urine is often great. And if this fluid is not replaced, the person can experience symptoms of dehydration as well, such as dizziness, headache, and rapid heart rate. Other symptoms include blurred vision, infections, and weight loss despite an increase in appetite and food consumption. Go and see a doctor

I wonder why your Doctor says it can't be diabetes? Sounds a good possibility to me.

If you aren't diabetic you could be pre-diabetic also called syndrome X, glucose intolerance or insulin resistance. This is when your pancreas creates the insulin but for some reason your body can't use it. As a result your body reacts more when it gets a rush of sugar or if you miss a meal. I had the symptoms of glucose intolerance for about 10 years before I became full diabetic. I wish I had known what diabetes was like when I had the chance to delay onset!

I suggest you try the following:
1. Always have breakfast, even if its only a slice of toast and a drink. It IS the most important meal of the day, otherwise you are asking your body to go from about 8pm to about midday without food and then giving it two large meals to digest within 7 hrs.

2. Don't skip meals. eat three meals a day. If you fell weak or light-headed between meals then have a snack such as a piece of fruit.

3. Cut down on the sugar, the fizzy drinks and the fast foods. A diet rich in sugar and fat is no good for insulin resistance. And, too much sugar in your diet can make your bladder irritable - meaning you have to go to the loo more often. I found that ,since I became diabetic, I have stopped getting migraines (possibly coincidence, but hey it worked for me !)

4. drink lots of clear water....It IS good for you as it washes the excess sugar out of your system. dehydration can make you shaky and paradoxically make you need to go to the loo.

5. See if you can reduce the stress in your life. It doesn't help!

you need a full blood workup. Insist on getting your A1C checked...blood sugar test that goes back several months; get your Insulin level checked....hyper insulin (insulin resistance) can cause these same symptoms; also get your vit B & vit D levels checked; as well as all your hormones. Any time you eat a carb, include a protein. Snack on an apple & almonds, or toast & peanut butter. Make sure you are eating something (small) every 3 hours or so. Do not go longer than 4 hours w/out eating.

yes, i had this. I had low blood sugar while i was pregnant. and the baby was taking alot of things that i needed. When you wake up in the morning, try drinking a glass of water and eating some crackers before you get out of the bed. That should help with the dizzyness and shakes. You're eating alot, b/c the baby is taking the food. Try to eat 6 meals a day... not heavy meals... light ones (just not too light that you will be hungry all the time). this should help with you feeling like youre starving. good luck..

When was the last time you were tested for diabetes? Diabetes can come on in just a few months time.
The only other thing would be to have your thyroid tested.
You can try to do some research on www.webmd.com

better get it tested again. sounds like it mostly likely could be diabetes. i have type 1 (injections) but i know mine is different to a normal persons but i know from a diabetic's point of view if my sugar level is low i get the shakes and feel weak. when its high i drink heaps and pee alot (body trying to get rid of the excess sugar on its own). i dont think its up to thats stage with you but just going on the reactions i get it could be your body telling you similar things

Hypoglycemia. Diabetes-related, but regulated by eating. Between meals, eat an ounce of protien every hour or so- it'll stop bothering you. (peanuts, cheese, beef jerky...) Just make your meals a bit smaller to compensate. I have it.
