I am 27 and I wont dare step foot in a club. I dont like dealing with all the immaturity there. I will go to pubs and bars but some of my friends still insist on going to clubs. Am I right? We are too old for clubs or am I acting like an Old man too soon?

I don't think there's a specific age, you just know when it's not your scene anymore-

Its all how you feel, not how old you are. I know 30-year-olds who are still in the club mentality. It just depends on what you like and what you're going out for.
I'm 27, and when I want to go dancing with my girlfriends, we'll go to a club. (We're married and we don't go for the guys!) I have to admit, those occasions are about once a year. The rest of the time, we'd all much rather go hang out at a bar where we can talk and get happy hour drinks!

The last time I set foot in a club, I was 34, some underground club in Lawrence, KS. They had some strange glow in the dark, beaker drinks and the music was pretty good, I wouldn't have stayed there for long, but no one looked at me differently.

I don't think 27 is too old.

Certain clubs cater to certain age groups. For example, I'm 24 and I stay away from the 18+ type clubs--you just know what type of crowd that will draw.

Certain clubs are catered towards more professional type of people who have more money to spend. (you can usually tell by the drink prices and what types of drinks they serve).

As far as a certain age goes, you'll know when you're too old. It'll just seem boring to you.

i am 39 and i just dont feel comfortable in a club.... i used to go to clubs all the time and now i go to the neighborhood local bars. problem being, the crowd can be less than favorable, and being single isnt much fun... So it is difficult to find a place to go thats pleasing everyone!

Wow, you take yourself a little too seriously IMO. I think "too old" comes when you've gained grey hair and wrinkles. Unfortunately, there are lots of those at one of the main clubs in my area. It creeps me out because they always just stand there by themselves staring at girls young enough to be their granddaughters. I actually had some old guy ask me to dance one time. Looking back, I kind of regret what I said, but then I was a little drunk: "Are you serious? You'd break a hip!".

You are just growing up and maturing...... it has nothing to do w. age as many never grow up or cling to youth.

Going out and getting wasted (though it will still happen) with no real plan and the idea of come what may is no longer enough. You want more...... maybe conversation or to be around people who are forward looking.

You at the step where the real fun begins. As an adult.

Well, my mother-in-law is 46 and she still goes to the clubs. I guess it just depends on how much you like going.

Try going to different clubs that have an older age group since you seem to have outgrown the clubs you are currently going to. You are not too old to go to Clubs but just need to find a different one.

I think that by 30 you should rethink, by 40 it's kinda sad..... You probably never liked clubs and should find other mates with shared interests and spend some time with them as well as some time with your old mates.

If you think you're too old for it, then you are. It's really a matter of choice rather than of age. Your friends should respect your decision.
