Hmmm, Basingstoke gets me into Waterloo in 45 minutes, but not London Victoria...

Anyone else?

You need to specify Manchester Victoria or London Victoria.

Go on the rail website and see what journey times they quote. For example they quote @ 50mins from Peterborough into central london, so you could be quite some way out. However remember to factor in delays, cancellations etc such as for the wrong type of leaves/snow/rain on the track.
