Horse carrots and supermarket/ordinary carrots are the same thing. The only difference is the horse carrots are older, hence larger. The downside is the core can be a little woody and fiberous, but the rest is just as edible.

Horse carrots are just the same as the ones in the s`market, only at the washing stage they have been discarded for being too big-small-wrong shape, whatever excuse they can think up to reject them! They are perfectly fine to eat.

Hi
I think they are just normal carrots, that could be about to go off, you wouldnt begrudge a little pony of his carrots would you lol.
The carrots in the shop usually look a lot better for human comsumption anyway.

Maybe they are just not as juicy. e.g. those tiny little baby sweetcorn things are tender and juicy and corn on the cob is much harder. maybe its like that with carrots too and the horse carrots would be too tough and stringy to taste good.

they are the carrots that the supermarkets won't buy cos of their (and our) obsession with only buying veg that conforms to a certain shape, colour and size. Luckily, and sensibly, horses don't know the difference.

They are just rather dirty and odd sizes and shapes. I used to keep horses and eat them - carrots, not the horses - as I was going along. They are cheaper just because they are odd.
