Reason is a necessary attribute to living, either Christian or non-Christian. Without reason, many mistakes would be made. Love on the other hand is a God given characteristic that abides in the lives of both Christian and Non Christian. When a disbeliever becomes saved, Love takes on new proportions and has a whole new meaning.

Reason has limits while love has no boundaries and the bible says that you can move mountains and do the greatest things on earth, but if you don't have love it's all in vain.
