I have been a Christian since I was young. We always went to church and sunday school. I am born again and I was baptised by full immersion when I was 18.

The thing is my life does not look like a Christian at all. I got pregnant when I was 22, got married and divorced soon after because he was promiscuous and abusive (he always called himself a Christian).

I only have a handful of Christian friends, I can not quote the bible, I am in debt. When I separated from my husband I was intimate with several men, not full sexual intercourse but with some quite x rated stuff.

I am despairing - will my life ever be religious and Godly?

I am always backsliding. At one point I will be going to Church three times a week and reading my bible all the time and then a few months later I will be drunk at a club kissing some strange guy (but not going home with him)

It sounds like you are heading in the right direction. You are aware of your position and sound sincere in your inventory of past events. God calls people like yourself 'prodigals' and there is an interesting and comforting story about this in Luke 15:11-31. You might read that. If you truly were a christian back when you were 18, then repent and confess to God and He will forgive you. 1John 1:9 God Bless

Listen, God may have had a bible for guidelines and how we SHOULD live our lives. But i'll tell you one thing, times change and the people now are alot worse than they were before. God isn't old aged. From what I think at least, everyone has a destiny, everyone has a fate. What happened to you... was meant to happen, doesn't mean it's good but it's who you were and you chose your path, am I right? I think that leading a "religious" life isn't necessarily for everyone... You should do yourself a favor sometime, try to follow your morals, go to church when you can, ask for forgiveness on your spare time because i'm sure you've done some bad things. But hey, God knew you before you were born and i'm sure that he won't leave you no matter what any bible says. Everyone deserves second chances, 3rd chances, 4th chances, infinite chances. "bad christian" nah, i think you've taken a step at becoming "good" by asking this. Remember, God doesn't want you not to have fun otherwise there wouldn't be any fun but he just doesn't want you to violate his rules in an extreme manner which would be disrespectful. I think the worst thing you could ever do is either murder or disrespect God willfully. By the way, i'm not a christian so don't think i'm trying to get you to go to church every single sunday now. I'ma jew! lol, God bless.

You are not alone. As a man, I fell down the same well of sin and despair that you are currently traversing. We live in the flesh and the euphoria and ecstasy of our "flesh" desires are usually greater than our will to do "right." You are TRYING to do good and you do not have the power to do so. There is someone that does have the power to help you move to a better place and that person is - The Holy Spirit. It is only by the intercession of His love and compassion that you will be removed from the presence of satan. The baggage you carry is great and you feel in despair from the weight. Check into Theophostic Prayer Ministry to see how to start removing the load you carry. Take one issue you have, for only you know what the truth is surrounding it, and take that to Cross for healing. Like David (see Psalm 51 !!) you must be heartfelt and truly seek intervention. Know that, little by little, you will see your life turn around and you will see the beautiful creation that you really are.
In the Name of Jesus Christ and His shed blood, I offer you up to the Lord God Almighty for your healing to start - TODAY!

What does a christian life look like then? I'm just wondering!
Do you have faith in christ, do you believe in christ and do you accept christ in your life? How much more of a christian could you be?

Sure you might not be the 'norm', but it doesn't make you any less a christian. I think perhaps you might be confused over what a faith and belief should be in your life, because they are not necessarily the same as a religion. I think you would benefit greatly from looking at some of the teachings of a woman called Joyce Meyers (not sure if you have heard of her).

You might be ashamed of some of the things you have done with your life so far, but that does not mean you cannot have a better future, you have to make right choices! God sent his son to bring us forgiveness, you will be forgiven for your mistakes, so be free and stay positive in the knowledge that God loves you, and your mistakes!

There will always be another at your church, who seems more on-top of everything, knows all the quotes, underlines the important things in their bible, but I assure you, it doesn't mean that they have learnt the value of the same lessons that you have.

My complements on your honesty.

I would suggest that you start thinking about the "kind of Christianity" you are being taught. Do some research on your own.

We all need the Light of God to learn and grow. Just start looking at the 4 gospels and ask yourself if Jesus was talking about the Light of life, or was he talking about blood for sin. If it is the second, then I can't help you. But if you notice that the Original Kingdom Gospel is about Light, then you will be able to discover the kind of powerful help Jesus was actually bringing to the world.

This online resource will explain what I am talking about.

You'll probably get different answers depending on which religious person you ask. Some of them will tell you you're already doomed to hell, some will say you're doomed to hell unless you get born again, some will say you're fine as long as you confess and do some sort of penance (but that if you don't, you're doomed to hell.)

Me, I say as long as you're not hurting anybody, you're a better person than many. If you feel that you're hurting yourself, then maybe you need to stop doing whatever it is, and if you feel that you can't stop, there is help available, and it doesn't have to come from a church.

And for whatever it's worth, being in debt is hardly un-Christian. You can get help with that, too, and again, you don't have to be a Christian to get it.

PS: I don't want to "devour" you. I don't even know what that means. I genuinely hope things turn out okay for you.

You are not a 'bad Christian' - Jesus did not come to create a religion called 'christianity' but to teach us how to save ourselves from the selfish ego 'satan' - the 'devil' - call it what you like.

Baptism has nothing to do with someone immersing you in water, but is a mental process where you learn to control your thinking and start to think thoughts that God has placed deep within you.

Stop persecuting yourself - you have already had a rough time of it. Resolve in your heart to be sincere towards God and to other people and determine to improve your behaviour.

Knowing God as your conscience is far more important than being able to quote the scriptures - the bible - etc. As Jesus said to his detractors "you search the scriptures because you think that you will find in them everlasting life - yet they speak of ME!"

People love to call themselves 'christian' and yet they finance governernments to build nuclear bombs, and send their brothers and sisters off to war. Almost in the same breath they quote scriptures to 'back them up'.

You are sincere, go into your room and ask God to reveal the Divine Spirit to you, then resolve to become a better person.

You will find some of the most powerful expounding of biblical scriptures written in the last 500 years.

Do not aspire to be 'religious' - There is one true religion - your breath that connects you to God, every other 'religion' is merely a school of thought with its own baggage.

You have already voiced your concerns and that means you have already taken the first step towards Godliness, but do not fall into the trap of judging your own life against that of others, especially if they call themselves 'christian'. People love to use labels - and it is always wise to look beyond them.

It took me all the years from 1975 to 1996 (21 long yrs) to finally come to the conclusion that Jesus was a pagan solar god who never existed in history. Furthermore, the Bible is actually influenced by the pagan Mystery Religions of Egypt, Babylon, Greece, Persia and Rome etc. I saved my sanity by rejecting Christianity.
