If you talk to a recruiter, see about he possibility of appealing your discharge, you may be able to go from an other than honorable discharge to a general discharge.......but you will have to show tangible proof how your life has changed for the better.....that would be the first step.....as far as getting back in the navy ...I don't think so....

you might be able to get a waiver for the army, might be a long shot though

whatever answer is thrown out here don't hesitate to talk to a recruiter to see about upgrading your discharge rating, it is not easy or automatically come to you, but it is worth a shot...
can you show that it was the result of one isolated incident over the course of say 36 months of no other incidents, you may have a chance..

This is probably not the answer you want but here it is.

Bad Conduct (BCD)
Unlike an administrative discharge, a Bad Conduct Discharge (BCD) is a punitive discharge that can only be given by a court-martial as punishment to an enlisted service-member. Bad conduct discharges are often preceded by a period of confinement in a military prison. The discharge itself is not executed until completion of both confinement and the appellate review process. Virtually all veterans' benefits are forfeited by a bad conduct discharge.

Discharge due to bad behavior could bar the offender from being accepted again to the Navy.

NO.

You either got a Other Than Honorable discharge or Dishonorble discharge.

Both warrant an RE-4 reenlistment code which keeps you from re-entering ANY of the military branches.

Life lesson!

nope. The Big Chicken Dinner kills any chance you ever had. depending on WHAT the BCD was for, however, the National Guard may consider a waiver, but they are the only ones( and personally, your chances are probably less than 5%)

If it involved drugs or alcohol, you are toast permanently.

Absolutely NOT. If you were given a BCD, it was the result of a Court-Martial sentence.
The only chance you would have, is if the original Courts-Martial was overturned on appeal, or thrown out.
Good Luck in Civilian life.
