My god isn't that fragile.
And if that were true about the God of the Bible, then we've had several THOUSAND years of "whiffs" and "doses" around and He's still ticking, eh? =]

God is an awesome God, and you need to prepare to meet Him. Who in blue blazes is/was Chapman Cohen? Was he killed by a whiff of science?
Anyone with a dose of common sense knows God.

Well considering all past religions have had a shelf life it seems true tho the quote was designed for people who think. Religion is the denial of an adult mind and a desire to be ignorant

Great quote. Amazing how some people use cop-out excuses to justify god such as lacking faith. What does that mean, lack faith? Or god IS all-powerful which is an absolute statement but yet there are excuses as to why god does not use his powers.
I say god and religion should be killed off with science and common sense

It reminds me of a quote by Michel de Montaigne. The gist of it is, "Man cannot make a worm yet he creates gods by the dozen!" www.enotes.com/famous-quotes/oh-senseless-man-who-cannot-possibly-make-a-worm. So true!
I think that supreme queen of literature and purveyor of the bon mot, Oscar Wilde said something to the effect that a church is a place where a man talks about a place he's never been, to a lot of people who are not going to go to.

Yeah, gods are not only fragile, they are nonentities. There is only one God. Jehovah is His name - He is the Almighty, the creator of all things......
gods are the works of men so they are fragile and may be killed and even destroyed not only by those things Chapman said but by words because they are nothing.

If only that were true. Mankind would be in a far better state. Unfortunately, gods seem to be enormous, snarling beasts gorging themselves on an almost limitless supply of ignorance and fear. It takes decades of tireless arguing and mountains of evidence to even wound the damned things.

That is correct.
Because all things in our belief could just vanish at a single wink when our mind will no longer believe them. The god in all of our religions are the same god found in the sections of our brains.

I agree with him. That's how imaginary things die. If gods were real and so "all powerful" they nobody could remove him from schools, courthouses, or anywhere else. And nobody would have a cow about Harry Potter movies or "The Golden Compass" movie either.
