Bring up a conversation about your hair, slowly introduce the *Idea* so it doesn't seem like something that's a big deal to you. Talk about it as a possibilty along with many others and try to find out what she really thinks. It will seem like you came up with the idea together through a genuine conversation. This can be a way to voice your opinion & even if she doesn't like it, she knows that you do and may start to accept that it's something you want and may be ok with it cos she knows how you feel..

Dont do it dude! French braids on a guy just isn't right! Single plait down the back or low pony tail , ok , but not a Fr braid. Sorry. ;-/

I think that she would like it. Ask her.
If you are engaged, then you should be able to discuss anything with her. If you can't, you need to learn to before you get married, or there will be some serious problems in your marriage.
