Well, with all the chemicals in each cigarette, including ingredients for rat poison, it's pretty bad. The nicotine is the addictive part.
It stinks--eventually your hair, and skin (including the inside of your nostrils) will stink of tobacco, at all times.
It affects your taste buds-food tastes so much better when you are a non-smoker. It effects your smeller too.
Your lungs are slowly being destroyed. Your bronchia as well. Therefore your breathing capability is hindered. You may not notice it right away, but you will after a time.
You may think you can limit your number of cigarettes to four a day, however, the need for nicotine could over time increase your "desire" for more than that limit per day.
Your clothes will stink too.
And, if you smoke inside your home, the build up of nicotine on the walls and ceiling will cause some yellowing on the surfaces of the walls, ceiling.
Plus, when french kissing a non-smoker, the non-smoker will feel like they are licking an ashtray--which is extrememly gross!
More apt. complexes and homes landlords are changing the rules about smoking-to if you smoke-it's only outdoors. Smoking is not healthy for kids to be around-for second hand smoke.
So please, if you smoke now, please quit while the quitting is easier. If you don't smoke, don't start. It is a bad and dumb habit.
Food will taste better, you will smell better, all kinds of good things, including good health.
Take care.

Any amount of smoking cigarettes will do you harm, even second hand smoking does damage. However your body will recover given enough time, it takes about 10 years for ALL the harmful chemicals to filter out, but for some of the chemicals they come out after even a few days without smoking. Smoking is very bad in general, and though Im being a little pedantic, you should quit ASAP.

Well, look at it this way. How bad is it if you DON'T smoke 4 cigarettes a day? Why add to your problems?

ANY amount of cigarette smoking is bad for you. The problem is, by the time your doctor tells you that you have to stop, a lot of damage will have already occurred.

Well, if you have smoked 4 ciggarettes in a day, that's not healthy, but you won't fall sick or die. However, if you continue to do this, you'l end up with a tumor in one of your lung. My advise to you is to stop smoking, but the only problem is that it is not easy to do that once you start. You could see a special person to help you stop, like for e.g, i have seen a comercial about a chewing gum that helps you stop smoking, the gum makes you adicted to it but i forgot the name of it, sorry!

You should be O.K. Just get plenty of exercise and eat right. Your body should absorb the cigarettes. But why smoke?
