Maybe you mean "Madonna Mia", that is an exclamation like "Oh My God". Madonna di mia doesn't mean nothing...neither in slang..

Madonna Mia..."My Lady"...refers to "Our lady, the blessed virgin Mary." It's like saying "Oh my God!", in the sense that it invokes a religious image as a resonse to something that has just provoked the speaker.
It is used as an exclamation of surprise, annoyance, joy, bewilderment, etc. Any number of situations might cause an Italian to utter this, in much the same way that such situations might prompt SOME people to exclaim a four letter word in our culture.
So, as for what your friend said to you, the usages of the f-word and the "m-word " might be similar, but the connotations are quite different! Using "Madonna" is polite, respectful, and assumes a shared Catholic faith in Mary.

No, it does not means f-u-c-k- you. It's like Oh my God!. It means MADONNA MIA (literally = Oh my Madonna or my Lady!
