For example you see someone on the street drinking beer and smoking, and you think, "Wow, what an idiot, I'm much more moral then him." I mean it seems like every Christian does this. We view ourselves as being much higher because of how we avoid drugs, smoking, drinking, and ect. When the reality is most of us are just as bad or even worse then these kind of people. Yet we judge and point fingers, when all that does is makes things worse. If we really want to "change" these people, we should encourage then instead of looking down on them. I just see this way to often, Christians getting full of themselves, when in reality they have their own flaws that still makes them imperfect. And imperfection is an imperfection no matter how you look at it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christian, but I just see this kind of judgement on a daily basis.

Because they were told by their OWN Deity: "Judge not, lest ye be judged", and so they are ABSOLUTELY DESPERATE to be judged THEMSELVES... this is also known to psychologists as having 'feelings of inadequacy'!

If you say "real Christian's" don't judge others you are only fooling yourself. Everybody judges, some just don't do it out loud. I can think of a thousand examples of how we judge others every day. The guy that cuts us off in traffic is an idiot...the hot chick is easy...the mother yelling at her kids in the store is a witch. We judge all the time. I think some Christians take it too far when they condemn others. The bible teaches that you will be judged by the same measure as you judge others. Thank God that he loves me for who I am and not what I am. Our faith in Christ is THE ONLY thing that makes us right with God, not how much better we are than anybody else.

Because the bible sends so many conflicting messages. It may tell you not to judge others, but it also encourages just that by telling you how much better than everyone else you are for believe in 'Brand A' over 'Brand B'. It tells you how special you are for believing what it tells you to believe while others don't or wont. Anyone who approaches the bible with an unbiased view can find many examples. And before anyone says it, yes I did approach it with an unbiased view. Just because my conclusion doesn't agree with your beliefs doesn't mean I am biased. It can mean you are simply wrong.

We would have to determine when our actions are "judging"

everyone forms opinions, Christians may see atheist as foolish for what they believe, and also atheist may see Christians as foolish for what they believe,

To the contrary, everything isn't judging.

If you see a man walking down the street and don't know him or about him, and you deem him guilty of being a heathen, then you are judging

but if that same man said hey, im a heathen and im against God, then it becomes fact that he is a heathen, not judgment

I really don't know the code of conduct for an atheist, although I have seen on here alot of them can get pretty sarcastic and hateful in their answers, but I don't judge that just because Ive seen a few of them be cold hearted, that they all must be cold hearted.

and as for a Christian, to be cruel and call people names is not Christ like at all, although it is the expectation of a Christian to not be ashamed of God, and to let others know what is the outcome of their decision according to what God has taught us, that they also may enjoy the gift of love God shows us.

Because man puts sin in levels. Why do people think it's OK to take a pen or something small from work and God's not looking. We forget that God See's all sin, That he watches us all the time. I have been baptized but still fall short everyday. I don't think it's all right but I have to ask forgiveness everyday. As Paul said (I die daily). Who in the scriptures was without sin but Jesus. Even David my goodness how he fell short and yet he asked forgiveness with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. My brothers and sisters pray for those who judged other for they truly don't know better, for if they knew Jesus and had him their hearts. They would not look down on others but they would pray for those that don't know the Savior. Pray for them that someday when they stand before the Master that he would say come in my good and faithful servant, and not ( I never knew you). Love in Christ

You don't know what other people think. I rarely see someone on the street drinking a beer and smoking. I think that I'm glad that I don't smoke and drink because it's not good for my body. I choose to think that. I don't verbalize it in public. If someone wants a beer once in a while; I don't see anything wrong with it. I hate to see someone smoke and poison their body's and risk having cancer. I lot of people decide later that smoking is not doing them any good; so they quit. I have a lot of friends who quit and are glad they did; even though they say that they would like a smoke once in a while. I'm proud of them for quiting.
You must be extra sensitive because I don't see that kind of judgment.

You are mistaken, it is not Christians that are prone to judgement, but human beings. Didn't Jesus say we should not judge others or we would be judged as well. And to prove a point your question is a judgement against Christians isn't it. Not judging but rather showing you how easy it is to make a judgement.

Christians are not suppose to judge others. Because we were saved by grace. We need to pray for others too, so that, they may accept the free gift of salvation as we do.

We are not better in any way by avoiding those vices. In fact only the blood of Jesus make us righteous. We are able to avoid those vices by the help of the Holy Spirit.

You are generalizing Christians. I am a Christian but I am a smoker. I am working my way to quitting, however I do still smoke. I don't judge others. It's not my place. I don't look at someone doing something wrong and think to myself or even tell them that they're going to Hell or that they should turn their life around. That's not my place.

Your exactly right. Like when Jesus told the parable of the good samaritan (look it up i dont feel like typing the whole parable). We should not judge other people or look down on them. HOWEVER, to intervene when someone is breaking the law is not judging them, but caring for them. To say, "hey man you really dont need to do that, its not good for you and you could get in trouble", isnt judging. To say you are better than them for what they are doing THAT is judging.

Don't confuse the actions of the loud Fundy Minority with those of the quiet accepting mainstream.

The Zealots believe they have a duty to pass judgement. The rest are more mature & accepting of others.
