go down to the drugstore and pick up some head and shoulders, or go to a salon and get special tea tree shampoo from paul mitchell (works better)

Well, the first thing is to work out if you really have dandruff, or do you just have the normal tiny flakes of dead cells which everyone has.

Have a talk with your mum or dad, or with your doctor, to see whether you really do have a problem.
There are several different things you can try to see if you can improve your scalp health.
* First, if you have oily hair, using a gentle shampoo every day will get rid of the extra oil. Since the oil holds the flakes together, making big, noticeable flakes, getting rid of the oil is enough for some people.
* Avoid hair products like hair gels. These hold on to the tiny flakes making bigger lumps too.
* Eat a healthy diet, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
* See if you can have a bit more zinc in your diet. Zinc is one of the things that seem to help keep skin healthy. Food sources for zinc include egg yolks, fish, meat, soybeans, sunflower seeds and whole grains.
* Get a little sunshine. This does not give you permission to sunbake and develop a tan. The sun can still damage your skin if you stay out too long, but a little bit of sun onto your scalp seems to help.

Then there are the treatments, such as anti-dandruff shampoos. These can be expensive, but can be helpful if you are having problems with dandruff.
dandruff * You can get many of the shampoos 'over-the-counter' at chemist shops.
* Different types of shampoos work in different ways - some can affect the colour of your hair and some people can be allergic to some of the products. So have a talk to the chemist before you spend your money.
* When you use one of these products, it is important to leave it on your scalp for five minutes before you wash it off.
* You may need to use one of these shampoos every day for a while, then, as the dandruff gets better, use the product about twice a week for a while.

If you have dandruff that is not getting better even when you have tried a couple of different types of products, go back to see your doctor. He or she may be able to prescribe a different treatment which could work.

Remember, dandruff is treatable.

Did you know…

Tea tree oil kills fungus, and can be helpful for some people who have dandruff and who would prefer to use a 'natural' product. But be careful...

* 'raw' tea tree oil can hurt broken skin, or irritate healthy skin
* some people are allergic to tea tree oil, and that could cause even more itching and scaling.

Test it on a different part of your skin before you try it on your head.

if head and shoulders doesn't work,(coz it works all the time) , then u should c a dermatologist.there might be a therapy.u can also use vinegar and wash ur hair with cold water, hot water makes the hair become oily faster, and that's what causes dandruff.henna is also great.
sometimes it's kind of fungus,but as we're no specialists we think it's just dandruff.that's why i'm tellling u to c a dermatologist.
i also advice u not to use eachother's towels or combs, coz each of u might have a diff kind of dandruff that can pass to the other.
good luck :)

Coconut oil, is the answer! Regular, vigorous massage of the scalp with coconut oil slightly warmed up, with a squeeze of lemon! And, use wet hebiscus leaves to lather up the hair when you wash the hair: some good brand of beer is also good for washing the hair with some relief effected for dandruff! Do all that for a few days, and you will see that d'druff is history!

I have dandruff but it never surfaces by itself...LOL like it would actually take someone scraping it for it to show...i dont get how it just comes out of your heads on its own?????...least you two are going through it together :P...im not trying to make it sound serious cos it really isnt...if thats all you two have to worry bout your doing good...probably just get a anti dandruff shampoo...if that doesnt work try seeing a doctor for it...if it really bothers you that bad..i mean like i said ihave it...but its not to the point where it really bothers me....good luck..
