You aren't expected to say hi, I think. It's only if you want to - some people are more social/outgoing than others. You don't have to smile everytime you see her, either, unless you feel like smiling. It's better to just be yourself and be honest with your emotions (in a tactful, reserved way, of course - you are in public). I would just focus on being her friend, if anything, since that might be a possibly good friendship for you. If you really can't stand her, then try sitting with someone new.
Just be yourself! Be comfortable. This is the best thing you can possibly do.

I think it's kind of rude for you to do that, I mean she'll just get your signals all mixed up, if that is what you're worried about. Just acknowledge her presence, and treat her the way you'll treat your other classmates you have no particular interest into. If you happen to be looking in her direction when she enters the room, nod to her, then continue to look in the same direction. That way, she won't think you're looking at her, if that is not what you want her to think. I do that every time with guys...=_=

i may be wrong...
but maybe you should stop worrying about her having a crush on you, she probably doesnt have a crush on you just like how you dont have a crush on her, even though YOU are always staring at her.
maybe the reason you always find yourself staring at her is because your so caught up in thinking that she likes you that you keep looking because you want to know if she does or not.
just dont think about how she may or may not feel about you, and i think you'll find yourself staring in her direction less.
i dont know if that makes sense to anyone reading this, but i hope it helps.

You're not rude, its just happen that you were looking in her direction but not looking at her....
Be friendly and have a conversation with her....tell her the truth because she might think that you liked her but his not your type........
So if she'll know the truth, it would be clear to her and won't have such thoughts..... :-)

Just greet her the way you would greet any friend! Make polite conversation, no harm at all: in fact, that way you get out of your present dilemma! And, a quiet, not-too-active friendship, is really good for you, too!

...No, you're not being rude. Just keep on ignoring her. Try not to look at her so much so she won't think you like her or something.
