I was wondering because I'm getting my hair cut soon, into a more scene look. But, I'm also planning on getting a job soon. They can't say, "We think you hair looks stupid, get out." Can they? I'm only 14, so it'll probably just be some supermarket job if anything, so I doubt it matters there. But still, can they?

Why would you want to get a haircut so extreme that it may keep you from getting a job? Once you get the hair cut; you have to live with it for a while probably. It would be better for everyone if you got something cute and something that the world can accept.

Of course they can! That's what the job interview is all about. They want to see if you will be a good representative of their company. If you want a job at a supermarket, go to that supermarket and see how the employees wear their hair. If it's short, and/or tied back, then follow suit, if you want to work at that store.

It depends upon the employer. Since your still young and will probably be going for jobs that don't deal so much with the company's image, then yea I think whatever hair cut you get will be fine. Happy job hunting!

yes they can deny you a job for what ever reason they want .and they do not have to give you a reason you just will not get a call back.I would not worry about your hair because you are only 14 and can not legally get a job until you are16.so get your hair the way you want it now.It should grow back by the time you can get a job

Well, when I worked at Wal-Mart a male co-worker of mine got a crazy haircut and they put him on suspension until his hair grew out. They told him that his hair did not present a "professional, put together" employee and it looked bad for the company.
It really depends on the policy of the company that you are going to work with. So, I suggest that you wait to get the haircut until after you get the job and you find out what the policy is.

Oh yes they can. They can hire anyone they please and looking like a little punk probably won't even get you an interview. Just remember that when you apply for a job it's your duty to sell yourself to that company because they want the best possible candidates to work for them. Good luck!

Of course they can say that. There are no laws against private citizens for not hiring people because of how they choose to dress. Now if you got I'm a ritard cut into the back of your haircut, then they couldn't discriminate because of the disabilities act.

they probably can't officially but employers will find another excuse not to hire you if you look too crazy!
you are only 14 - if you can't have a scene look now you never will - go for it.
