Or can Islam not co-exist with other religions?
I'm studying southeast asia currently, and it seems that Christianity (Malaysian Christians vs. Malaysian Muslims, and Filipino Christian vs. Filipino Muslims) and Buddhism (Thai Buddhists vs. Thai Muslims) can't peacefully exist with Islam.
Muslims live in predominantly Christian America, but I think it's peaceful because Islam is fairly new in America and there isn't a big religious following yet. In the UK, tensions are rising, so peace doesn't seem likely there.
Does practicing Islam freely and unreserved mean that other religions can's exist or are there religions that work with Islam?
(It isn't Muslims that always break peace. In Thailand, it was the Buddhist that 1st attacked the Muslims)

Buddhist are not peaceful. Khmer Rouge - Cambodian killing of 1/7 of Cambodians were done by Buddhists. Japan's (Buddhist country) invasions of Korea and China. North Vietnam's (Buddhist) attack on the south and neighboring countries.
Buddhism may be a peaceful religion, but it's followers are often not.

can i ask u something..do u know how many muslims are they from all over the world..
there are about 2 billion muslims from all anout the world..it is about 20% of the human population..
but,in 2 billion muslim..the terrorists are only about 5% from that percentage..rather than israelian armies that attacked palestine..the israelians armies are about 10% of the israelians population..
it is a very huge differents between those two numbers.

If by "I know what is happening in Gaza is wrong", you mean that you think the Hamas terrorist government terrorizing its own citizens and those in Israel is wrong, then I completely agree with you. Anyway, the question should be why can't Islam get along with Judaism. Yes, Judaism and Islam are "cousins" in the technical sense (Isaac and Ishmael were cousins). However, this does not mean that they are similar religions, or have similar teachings or traditions. While Judaism does not require that non-Jews convert to Judaism, Islam requires that all non-Muslims convert to Islam. If not, they will be killed, or must submit to "dhimmi" status, where they are (just like in the medieval Muslim society) persecuted, forced to pay a special tax, not allowed to pray or mourn in public, and made to where special clothes to distinguish them from Muslims. Islam and other religions are incompatible, as shown in all modern Muslim countries.

Actually it seems that it can't even coexist with itself. Look at Sunni vs. Shia wars, they started as soon as Mohammed died (1300 years ago) and have been extremely bloody. Both sides believe the other to be heretical.
Technically, no religion that claims that it is the only one which is correct can coexist with any other because that would be accepting that they are wrong.
However, since people are not always following their religions to the T, they are not always zealots. This is true for both Muslims and Christians and other faiths.

Whatever happened in the world, it doesn't concern with the religion itself. It happened from belief , culture, tradition.... whatever. In any religion , the teaching makes people do the good. It has not separated the kind of human, rich or poor.
Then the goodness and the badness are in anyone. mixed. It depends on any situation, the benefit.
The peace must be done by human.

But buddists are the most peaceful. EVER. For this i guess the muslims must have done something. I dont really know. I'm atheist, and i get along fine with alot of my close muslim friends. But it depends on where you come from. It just depends what kind of muslim you are too i guess. If you're the religious kind..etc.. Then i suppose ya maybe it's hard. But if you're not then it'll be okay. But then i know, there are a few cases whereby the muslims are provoked, so it's not their fault either. Depends.

I don't think so. But then I have a biased opinion. You get that way when they shoot at you.
For the truly peaceful ones I am sure we can get along with them for a time. However, there is a powerful movement in Islam to force their faith upon the rest of the world. Its not like they have to fight for respect or anything, they just have the need to conquer written into their faith.

I think you're observing a cultural phenomenon and calling it a religious one. My suspicion is that European and American societies with a long tradition of democracy can absorb a lot of fairly fundamentalist Muslims before it necessarily becomes a problem - Christianity as written says a lot of the same sword-to-the-infidel sorts of things too. It's just a matter of the Islam in question being something similar to mainline Christianity in its willingness to exist in a secular society.

Who wouldn't? After years of being abused I would attack too!
and for the answer to what religion can co-exist with Islam:
NONE; they believe that the way of Allah is the only way and you MUST submit to him!

Islam religion followers could get along with other religion followers if they respect each other and do not insult each other.Muslims could not get along with other religion followers as the majority if they oppresed muslims. They do not treat fairly muslims as the minority. For example other religion followers(christians, budhas and hindus) as monority can live peacefully with muslims as majority such as in middle east countries,Egypt,Marocco,Pakistan,Bengladesh Malaysia and in Indonesia .But oppositely in the christians and hindus or buddhas countries as the majority of its people and muslims as the minority such as in
Srilanka,India,Thai land and in the Phillippines muslims can not live peacefully because they are not treated fairly..They have no the same right with the majority citizen. The majority people hate muslims.

You got it twisted man. Study history and you will see that we have been the most tolerant. You know what the problem is? We can coexist with anyone. But the others don't want to coexist with us. That's the simple truth. Believing it doesn't make it any truer, and not believing it will not make it any less of a truth.
