Given the economic and political conditions in Germany and Europe at that time and the preexisting and wide spread anti Jewish attitudes being promoted in German society and especially cultivated in the Christian Churches since Martin Luther, National Socialism might not have needed Adolph Hitler. The idea that Germans were God's chosen "folk" and the myth of a pure Aryan heritage that needed to be revived pre date Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist. The conditions and the times may have produced another equally dangerous figurehead to lead the German people down another equally destructive path. Look at the Soviet Union under Stalin or Pol Pot in southeast Asia, or Uganda under IdiAmin..., none of these mad men rose to power in a vacuum, and none could have done their evil without the cooperation of all the "good Germans" so to speak.

If you read about Hitler's life, he was a very abused child. I think this question is far more complex than it appears. No baby is predestined for evil. Things happen to them, and as they get older they make decisions based on their experiences. Hitler is not a devil, he was human just like the rest of us.
The political tensions in Europe pre-WWII were very high. Discrimination against Jews (and others) existed long before Hitler's rise to power. The tensions and hatred that existed allowed someone like Hitler to rise to power, but he was not soley responsible for everything that happened. Even if he hadn't existed, someone else just like him may have risen to power and done the same deeds.

Who can predict the consequences of interfering with fate? Would be like the time machine, another would rise except he would have a walrus mustache and suddely Jamie on the mythbusters would be sporting a hitler mustache. Are you ready for that type of change?

No. Hitler made choices as an adult. He was a bad man, no doubt, but killing an innocent baby makes no sense. He wasn't a devil. He was a person. A schmuck of a person, no doubt... but what crime has a baby committed? It would be better if we went back far enough to right before he became so influential... when he was planning and scheming... and then imprison him!

lets see...at first I thought this was a Q about history but now I see it's using Hitler as an example for abortions.
seriously though...
If I could go back in time I wouldn't alter history in any way...science fiction movies have proven to us that this is bad.
although if I could go back to the early eighties I would tell myself to invest in microsoft.

How can one decide that with a newborn baby?
Only way I would agree to that is if I knew the outcome
of his twisted plans.

If time could go back, I would advise her not to have sex. That way she would not have to feel responsible for his death or the deaths of so many innocent souls!

Well, no one knew the devil he was going to become either. I'm sure if we knew in advance we would all be for it.
