well not really a glitch but you should know that using certain settings of the "climate control" will keep the gas engine running. You may want to to read up on that in the owners manual to keep your mileage expectations.
You can download (free) owners manuals & related booklets for the Hybrid Escape right from Fords website... Any year that you have decided to purchase (I saw your Q about used ones too)
Here is the link for the free Ford manuals:

Also there is a page at a hybrid site that deals specifically with ways to increase your fuel economy on the Hybrid Escape.
Here's the link to that page:

Yes that's right... it says that there are people consistantly getting between 40-45 mpgs!

Havent heard much but they are a pain to work on after they have been in an accident so many wires for the hybrid and when one is severed in a front end collision it takes a while to find out what wire was severed. Have had a couple come through the shop

Check the brakes in damp weather. It seems like rain or snow screw up Ford brakes real bad anymore. They aren't so Tough when they are wet. New Ford Vehicle driver.

NOT MANY EXCEPT THAT THE MAIN BATTERY, IF IT EVER GOES BAD, CAN COST ON THE UPWARDS OF $5,000-$7,000. SERIOUSLY!! SOME AFTERMARKET SERVICE CONTRACTS WILL NOT COVER THE BATTERIES EITHER. FACTORY WARRANTY WILL THOUGH, AS LONG AS IT IS WITHIN THE MILEAGE/DATE REQUIREMENTS.
