There is this guy that I really like and we have been great friends since 2nd grade, and we are now in highschool. I have always had a bit of a crush on him, and every once in a while, we had moments when we became more than just friends. Not sex or anything, but just cute little dates and such. Sometimes though, he just hangs out with his other friends at school, including other girls, and flirts with them. I kinda glance from a far, and every once in a while he looks over at me. He is the most popular guy at school though, and he always has girls falling all over him, which is another problem. A couple years back, on Valentines Day, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said no, because he had asked some other people out, and had been kidding, and I thought he was kidding with me. He seemed like he was hurt, and tried asking me several other times but I said no. I have a feeling we will always be really close. Do you think we were ment to be?

First you have to search in your own mind whether you wish for friendship with him or not. If yes, then you should know well that false ego has no place in true friendship.Your repeated denials show that you have not sheded your ego.
