I was just at the ophthalmologist because my eyes are EXTEREMELY dry. Almost no tears. The doc told me that it's important to catch it, because if you catch it too late, it's too late. (I was scared to ask him what would have happened!)

Anyway, he has me taking over the counter drops. Op-tive, 4 times a day, and Refresh PM every night. I was having tearing. Tears would be running down my face for no reason.
I still have to go back for a glaucoma test, because it runs in my family. There are no symptoms if you have glaucoma.

The tearing has stopped, so he knows what he's doing. Next time you have your glaucoma tested, ask what the numbers are. Anything over 20 is bad. But if you have dry eyes, take what I'm taking. You should see at least an optometrist for a check-up. He/She will test for glaucoma and your dryness.

Hope that helped! Good luck. :)

Put some eyedrops in your eye. Generally get the artificial tears drops. I would not suggest running water over your eyes since you might get an infection.

use eye drops, they are great!
I have used all brands, I have never found a brand that didn't work.
also, if you wear contacts tell your eye doctor cuz some brands of contacts are better for dry eyes than others (like acuvue)
