Eastern standard time is UTC + 10. Western standard time is UTC + 8 so Sydney is two hours ahead of Perth. If it is 8pm EST it is 6pm in Perth.

Until last year, WA did not have daylight saving so when NSW, Vic and Tas went to daylight saving, they were three hours ahead of Perth while Brisbane remained two hours ahead.

This is the second year of a three year experiment with daylight saving in WA so Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart remain two hours ahead. Queensland does not have DS so when Perth puts the clock forward, Brisbane is one hour ahead of Perth.

That means that until March if it is 8pm in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart, it is 7pm in Brisbane and 6pm in Perth.

I hope that's clear :o)

during daylight savings WA is 2 hours behind and in normal time its 3 huors behind so today in sydney say it is 3pm it would be 1pm in perth.
