I honestly don't want to see him go he's a great cook with great ideas he's basically all the food network has got as far as I have seen. I would rather see him on than what's her face...sorta homemade crap...I'm sorry honestly if you like Emeril you'll tell me what you think...

well, as much as i love the guy. maybe he is trying to lighten his load. he is still going to do the essence show.
here is his letter
Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting our site and sending your well wishes and thoughts about ‘Emeril Live’. It is true that we will not continue production of ‘Emeril Live’ after the next filming in December, but I am looking forward to continuing a long working relationship with them for years to come. Emeril Live will continue to air on the Food Network for about two more years, with premiere episodes throughout 2008, and I will continue to host ‘Essence of Emeril’ next year. We are also looking into some specials and other new development opportunities.
'Emeril Live' has been a wonderful experience over the past ten years, and I'd just like to say how deeply appreciative I am to all the unbelievable staff - many who have been with the show since the beginning. I'd also like to thank the loyal viewers and fans, and the many talented guests who have appeared on the show through the years. It's been such an incredible ride…but there is much more to come. I have lots of new ideas cooking…so please stay tuned!!

We love Emeril Live. I was an o.k. cook until I started watching him, along with Sara Moulton, in 1998. He is a great teacher that gets people excited about REAL cooking and trying new ingredients.
With several restaurants all over the US, food and cookware lines, charity work, 2 television shows plus appearances on others, cookbook author, and a big family he could probably use a rest.
According to what I read, he is still under contract with FN and will be making appearances, etc.
PS
We will also miss Doc Gibbs & The Emeril Live Band. Hope they will be seen around as well.

While there are some great cooks on the Food network. NO ONE has the personality and charisma of Emeril. I no longer watch any of those shows since becoming a Vegetarian four years ago. Emeril is fabulous and very busy!

Emeril is great and his re-runs will definitely keep me happy for alittle bit :) lol I am sad he is going. It's a true loss for the food network, especially with that dumbas$ rachel ray there LOL their ratings will definitely go down. I wish him the best, he's a great cook.
Keep his traditions alive with his recipes. You can have the taste Emeril cooks :) Go to www.foodnetwork.com site and look some up..ALOT are there.

yes one of his shows is being cancelled "Emeril Live", but he's not gone his other show "The Essence of Emeril" will still be going strong.

I love Triscuits, and won't buy them cause her face is on the box!!!
But cancel Emeril?? What a crock of sh!t!!!!
He's very popular, I am sure his fan base will not be happy....

I hadn't heard this so I don't know why but perhaps he's just wanted more time for other pursuits than TV. I'm sure he'll still be around. One of my best friends is a cousin of his which is interesting to me. My daughter babysits his kids.

what?!?! the world is gunna end. This is unreal!!! that man started me on my road to cooking 10 years ago! I cant believe it! He set the mark for everyone on food network!

I definitely think he has more credibilty than Rachel Ray or Sandra Lee - he certainly was carismatic. But he's made his money - I think someone else can have their 15 minutes now...
