Is there such a thing as unforgiveable sin?

I have never understood what is meant by this term.

It seems to be to run counter to everthing in the New Testament. There is nothing that you could have done in your past that God will not totally forgive as long as you

1) honestly and truly repent.
2) seek God's forgiveness
2) have faith in Jesus Christ

So, is there any sin that cannot be forgiven and forgotten even when you have done these three things?

What is unforgivable sin?

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. The main reason this is unforgivable is because He is the one who leads people into all truth. Without Him, you will never receive all truth, therefore, you can not gain wisdom of Jesus Christ and can not be saved.

The unforgiveable sin is when parents drill into their kids at a young age to worry about sin and if God will forgive them when there is a big beautiful world out there waiting for them to explore it.

Don't worry about such things. These are things made up by men. God loves you. Do the best you can in life. That's all you need to know. Move on to more important things.

You will never know the mind of God anyway. People claim that God thinks this and that but they don't know what God thinks any more than you do.

In all sincerity, addressing your question ... NO - there is no sin God cannot nor is unwilling to forgive. The "unpardonable" sin is the sin of tasting the grace of God, involved in a spiritual relationship with Him and then, after having been involved in this relationship, PREFER to dilberately, and willfully, follow the course of Satan's way AFTER the FACT of knowing better AND preferring it WITHOUT ever, wanting to be forgiven of that sin. Simply put; not wanting to ever, seek these 3 things you have listed, after tasting the grace of God, through Jesus Christ, would result in the "unforgivable" sin by free choice. This course of sin can't be forgiven because the person doesn't want to be forgiven.

I am not a very religious person, I have my beliefs. That is good enough for me, but I don't think there is anything God won't repent. However, it's not always what god will think or how he will judge. It is about how you treat others and how they are hurt and jaded by your actions. Sometimes, things happen. However, I think no matter what you have done, it is not necessarily about God, but rather about what it has done to others and what you did about it. If you are a good person, you're a good person and you will do the right thing.

well i am a 29 year old male, and my mother told me that i had sinned "beyond belife" when she kicked me out of the family house at 14.

i had gotten an 18 year old girl pregnant in a one night stand, when i was 14. i beleive that god has forgiven me, and i belive that my mother, and father sould to. but we will just have to wait. im not really sure wich sin i have done...but i am truly sorry that i was 14, but i love my daughter so much, and if i had the choice of my daughter or total forgivness from my family, friends and god...i havew to admit that i would choose my daughter over them

God forgives us when we repent and confess our sins to Him. We should not however practise presumptuous sin, that is, intentionally doing what we know is wrong then running back to God for forgiveness over and over.
One sin that is however unforgiveable is suicide...simply because one would not be able to repent nor confess this sin.

Earth plane religions were concocted by negative zeta reticulans in cahoots with the human illuminati types, and perhaps with some input from the alpha draconians. They are designed to help keep you enslaved. "God" is within you.

If any sin is unforgiveable it is associated with the fundamentalist xian hierarchy composed of used car salesmen who cynically extract money and personal power from the sheeple they relentlessly con to feed their insatiable egos :))

Blasphemy. That is the only thing that I know of.

blas·phe·my [blas-fuh-mee] –

1. impious utterance or action concerning God or sacred things.

2. Judaism. a. an act of cursing or reviling God.

3. Theology. the crime of assuming to oneself the rights or qualities of God.

4. irreverent behavior toward anything held sacred, priceless, etc.: He uttered blasphemies against life itself.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!

You know I once read in a Bible trivia book there is ONE unforgivable sin. And that sin was "leading others into idolatry."

In my religion, Islam, it is very clearly stated that there is only one unforgivable sin and that is to worship more than one god.
