I recently met an old college buddy from Iran. He stated that their are many jews living in their country and they get along with their neighbors in the cities they live in. And even some government officials actually give proyection to them. Is all we hear from the media true about these relations for the negative, or could this coexisteance be possible. Just wondering.

The BBC did a report on Iran's Jewish population, the largest in the Middle East (except, of course, for Israel). The Moors in Spain let Christians and Jews freely practice their religions and participate in government, and when they collapsed, another Muslim leader- the Ottoman Sultan, Beyazit II, rescued a large number of Jews and brought them into his empire, also allowing them the same rights they had had in Spain. There has been plenty of conflict between the two groups because of extremism on both sides, but the Quran says to engage in dialogue with the "People of the Book". In short, no, not all Muslims hate Jews by any means.

No, not all Muslims hate Jewish people. In some cases Jews and Muslims get along just as well as anyone else. However, this is all lost on the media, which is very anti-Islamic and is always trying to villify Islam.

Don't believe anything, ever, that you see, hear or read from mainstream media. Their aim is not to provide the who/what/why/when/where. The agenda is to control what the American public believes, and boy, does it work! Your described incident proves this. We have to search dilegently, but the truth of the matter can be had. We just have to dig deep, but never with mainstream media. The name of their game is power and control. The Internet is a good source for finding the truth. Alot of times you can find the truth in political blogs. Good luck in your search.

Its just what people are interested in probably, not many people want to hear about how people are getting along

Its a possibility that they get along at times, but most things are past down through family and religion

You can never say "all" regarding any people. But a majority do.

I spent time in Jordan, and there is a community working with the Jews to learn how to drip irrigate their crops and how to get their land productive. When they work with the Jewish people, they prosper.

It makes perfect sense that not all muslims hate jews but to get a number, all muslims would have to respond to this question and that isn't going to happen.

one begins to wonder, especially when you say the government of that country has to protect the Jews? Protect them from who, if not their neighbours?

Not all of a group ever truly do one thing. Don't stereotype-especially with religions and nationalities.

some people don't like others, i guess. when someone's different from you, you have to be a little...ready to run? I mean, if you know you have someone's eternal damnation within your hands, i'd be a little panicky. and i think i'm not doing enough to stop people from going to hell...so today i'm going to ask all my friends if they are christians. Thanks!
