All soup or one certain kind? If more than one kind try to identify a common ingredient in all of them, then you will know what to avoid.
Why is soup in general supposed to be good? Cream soups are high in fat and many soups are quite high in sodium. As with any food, it's what's in it that makes the difference.

Could be the gas, like one poster said, or a food sensitivity. Do other liquids give you trouble? Maybe it's the temperature. You might also be consuming too much. Because soup doesn't require chewing, we don't register that we're eating it. This might not seem like a big deal, really, but if you're taking in a lot more than usual, that will definitely give you a tummyache. Same if you're eating it too fast.

What kinds of soups? Cream based? You might be lactose intolerant. I'm in this boat.

Some soups from stores or restaurants may contain MSG. You might be sensitive to it and having a reaction.

If you make the soup from scratch does it bother you?

Since you're eating a liquid for the most part, you may be ingesting a lot of air when you swallow, which will gurgle around and cause gas pains if you don't burp it out.

But I'd suspect it's more likely a reaction to some common ingredient that you haven't identified yet.

it depends if its a cream soup, the cream might upset your stomach, and if it's broth it might be have to much sodium for you to take in. good luck.
