Much like Wal*Mart's Dr. Thunder is to Dr. Peper. Is Evan William's to Jack Daniel's and Seven Crown to Crown Royal. I know that the "Great Value" versions aren't quite as good, but still, wouldn't you all agree that they are pretty similar?

McCormic is about the cheapest whisky I've found. And after the first drink it boils down to whether I have any money left in my pocket or not.
One of my best whisky memories was a bootleg brand labeled "Mr. Ed". It had a smileling horse head. Bought a case from a friend who met a bootlegger at a bar once 20 years ago, never saw the brand again.

I like Robin Williams' old line: "Thunderbird Wine, ah, it was a very good week!"

It depends on your palate and how educated it is. It also depends on what you want the whisky for: for its taste, aroma, body, character, or to get royally buzzed/blitzed/snookered.

I don't drink whisky myself, preferring a mildly chilled Sam Adams Brown Ale. Cheers!
