Go to Walgreens, and pick up some lice treatment for her, it's only about $10. Tell her to wash her hair more often...that is so gross.

Don't even let her on your couch or car seat let alone your bed until she's got them gone. You'll definitely get them if she still has them plus you'll have to go through the hassle of cleaning all your clothes and your carpet and your furniture. Buy some lice shampoo and comb. And give her directions about how to get them out of her clothes and other items she brings into your home. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/lice/article_em.htmhttp://www.hsph.harvard.edu/headlice.html
Just do a search for "lice" and you'll come up with all you need to know. Good Luck

Hello, I am a hair dresser. You need to get some shampoo and get that out of her hair now. She is spreading them where ever she goes. They transfer from person to person very easily. Even floor needs to be shampooed, every piece of clothing cleaned, all of the linens cleaned, and clean the couch the best you can. If you need to, call a salon or doctor and see if they can do the hair for you. Also, you need to get checked for lice yourself because there is a very good chance that you have them too. Hope this helps!

DO NOT share a bed with her until she has been treated for the lice and they are completely gone. If she is 20 she should have done that on her own. Shame on her. Lice spreads on contact with things like pillows, hats, brushes & combs, towels and just about anything that would be shared.

First are you positive its lice. These can be characterized by very small whitish beads on the hair, very close to the scalp, and when mature you will see bugs.

If in fact she does have lice, get shampoo from the drug store, its medicated and will kill them. RID is one of the brands. Lice are highly contagious and are very hard to get rid of. Do not share anything with them, they are parasites.

If it is just dandruff or dry scalp, characterized by small white or yellow flakes that move easily in the hair, then have her try Abba's moisture scentsation shampoo and conditioner.

Here are 5 different head lice prevention methods with Tea Tree Oil:

1. Mix 10 drops of Tea Tree oil in with your shampoo. This makes you totally invisible to the lice as they no longer regard you as human. As transferring to anything other than a human spells certain death, they are not even willing to take the chance. You can also buy Tea Tree shampoo already made but this is more expensive as tea tree oil can be picked up from your local health food store for around $6.

2. Put your hair up in a tight plait. Lice find it harder to get hold of hair that is well up and out of the way. Mist your hair with water in spray bottle and 10 drops of Tea Tree added. This will help to further repel them.

3. It is possible to repel them by simulating dirty hair as this makes it hard for the lice to move around or attach their eggs. Gel is one way to simulate a dirty environment without the hair actually being dirty. Mix in a few drops of Tea Tree oil. This will be a double whammy as the lice will not think you are human as well as it being impossible for them to move around or attach their eggs.

4. Exactly the same goes for girls. Hair spray also simulates a dirty environment very well, making it hard for the lice to get around. Get the kind that comes in a pump bottle that you can add a few drops of Tea Tree to.

5. You can also get leave in conditioner which will do the same trick again. Add 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil oil and spray this over a tight plait every day.

If she still has problems with lice then you can direct her to the following website to read these articles:

You should both do lice treatments, together. All of her clothes, bedding, etc., need to be washed. It's imporant to keep up with lice treatments for up to 6 months. You should discuss this with your Mom, before she arrives, as your entire household is at risk. Be sure you keep all of your sheets, towels, clothes clean and try to wash her stuff after each use.

If you find lice or nits on your cousin, use an anti - lice shampoo, such as Nix or Rid, and follow the package directions carefully. In general, you should apply it to washed and dried hair and apply the shampoo until the hair and scalp is saturated and thoroughly wet. Leave the shampoo on for ten minutes and then rinse it out. Consider using a second shampoo treatment in 7-10 days to kill newly hatched lice.
A prescription shampoo, Ovide (malathion), may be needed for resistant lice. It is lathered into dry hair and left on overnight. It should not be used in newborns or infants, and be careful, because it is flammable!

To assure total lice treatment it is necessary to remove all of the nits in your cousin's hair. You can use the plastic comb that came with your antilice shampoo, or for better results, consider buying a fine toothed metal comb (such as the LiceMeister 888-542-3634 to order).

It is important that you now check your cousin's hair every night until all of the lice and nits have been removed. Sit your cousin in the bathtub and comb their hair out with a regular comb. Check the scalp thoroughly and remove all lice (alive or dead) that you find. Next, use your lice comb again and go through each section of hair until all nits have been removed.

Cleaning the House
Lice can live for up to three days off of the human body, so it is important to follow these steps to prevent reinfestation:
Wash all bedding and recently worn clothing in hot water (>120º) and dry in a hot dryer.
Soak combs/brushes in hot water for 10 minutes.
Vacuum to remove all lice and hairs with attached nits from furniture, rugs, stuffed animals and car seats. Place items that can not be washed or vacuumed into plastic bags for three weeks. Change your sheets and pillowcases every night for a week and wash in hot water.

See the site www.headlice.org for more info.

Call your doctor if the lice infestation has not resolved in 1-2 weeks or if his/her scalp has a rash that is infected with pus or honey colored scabs.

Talk to your cousin about it & see if Lice is STILL an Issue with her... She may have taken care of it by now... Also; the OLDER a person IS, the LESS likely they'll have lice OR spread it. Lice is RARE among Adults- and doesn't usually spread among them...

Yes, you are SUPPOSED to get rid of lice using lice shampoo! Why hasn't she already? That's disgusting, you definitely shouldn't share a bed with her until it's gone!
