I have basically perfectly straight teeth but my top four teeth at the front have small gaps between them.

I have been offered to get braces to close the gaps and just mainly make my teeth in line perfectly.

I really dont want to get braces of any kind unless the gaps wont close up by themselves. So, are there types of gaps that can close on their own? Any websites would be good aswell.

Thanks.

If you are an adult, then there is virtually NO chance that the gaps between your upper front teeth close by themselves. Those gaps will never get smaller but could stay the same or even expand depending on your occlusion and soft tissues.

The eruption of 3rd molars (wisdoms) WILL NOT cause any movement in your upper teath what so ever. It is still debetable wether lower 3rd molars cause lower teeth crowding but the trend now is to believe that they don't.

If you want to get the little gaps between your upper incisors closed then you have to either go with a fixed orthodontic applience (braces) or you could try Invisalign.

I know about this because my orthodontist told me how it works. I originally had gaps in my teeth and she told me that they don't close up by them self. They need wires and chain bands to help close them. It doesn't hurt that much! You'll probably only have your braces for 10 months at most, but I think it should only take 3 months! After the results are done, it will be sooo worth it! Trust Me!

the wisdom teeth with probably close the gaps as they come in. Don't worry..wait and see before having any unnecessary treatment or braces done

It depends. Sometimes they do close on their own. For example, my older brother, in pictures when he was little his teeth were really spaced out. When he was about 7 or 8, his teeth are perfect. And they still are perfect...Well they may or may not fall out considering he only brushed his teeth when he feels like it. It was a whole different situation with me. My teeth were really spaced out when I was little too. The dentist said that they would probably grow closer together as I got older considering my brother. They have grown a little closer together, but still have spaces.

If you are like in your teens, they aren't going to grow together. If you are young, like 6 or 7, they might.
