Hi there...your cat may have a lower urinary tract infection (UTI) which will require veterinary attention. Left untreated UTI's can become life-threatening as the urine is unable to pass and the bladder will rupture inside the abdominal cavity.

You have to take her to a vet - there is nothing anyone here can do. She may be blocked, though it is not nearly as common in female cats as it is in males, but it does happen - this is a life-threatening emergency. I lost a cat once when he blocked - he kept blocking every single day, and it eventually was too much for him to handle, so I had to euthanize him. She could also have a urinary tract infection, or a variety of other illnesses. You can see if you qualify for CareCredit - its a credit card you can use at the vet, human doctors, dentist, eye doctors, etc, and then try to find a vet near you that accepts it - the carecredit.com website even has a nice little search where you can look. You can also call your local humane society (or ASPCA shelter if they have one where you are) and see if the offer free/cheap veterinary care. If you simply can't do anything else, see if the vet will let you pay some now, and leave a post-dated check for whenever you get paid. Some will work with you on payments, others won't. Regardless, this cat needs to see a vet. Good luck!

If no urine is coming out it's a vet emergency, the cat is blocked and the bladder walls start bleeding, the kidneys shut down, and the cat can die of blood poisoning in 24 - 36 hours. WAITING causes worse and worse kidney loss, so even if you can't afford it you're going to have to take her in and have the vet unblock her. Work out payments or something. This will kill your cat if unfixed.

Females block, same as males, and the end results are always the same if it's left for too long. You loose your cat.

I once had a problem with my cat. I couldn't afford vet bills either. If you have any left over penicillin or amoxicillin you can crush it up and give them depending on the size of the cat 1/6 th of the powder in milk or a peice of lunchmeat works good. Do that for about a week. My cat had an abcess and I had to stab it to get the infection out but don't do this unless they have a lump and its obvious. I am not a vet but did work in a vet office once and just be careful. Sterilize your cutting utensil in boiling water and dress the wound with antibiotic ointment but do not allow cat to lick it until a scab forms and ointment is cleaned off. My cat is still alive and is healthy I am fairly certain he would have died.

Why do you have a cat if you can't afford to take it to the vet? Do you really think we can magically diagnose your cat through the internet?
